In nature, it is found in meadows and forest edges in areas with a temperate and subtropical climate. It looks quite simple, has a straight, branched stem, mostly bare and growing up to 100 cm, and petiolate, feathery leaves. From the second year of life, small, white flowers, collected in umbrellas, appear on it, and then egg-shaped seeds ripen.

  • Coumarin and volatile oils. They have an antispasmodic effect. Alcoholic infusions are useful for muscle spasms and biliary tract, problems with blood vessels.
  • Vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins. These components, which are abundant in the aerial part, strengthen the immune system and are useful in viral diseases.

Apply preparations based on the thigh and externally to remove age spots, with vitiligo and edema. But treatment should be started only after consulting a doctor and under constant supervision.

How to grow saxifrage thighs

Many species of this plant are useful, but saxifrage is more common in Russia, it is used more often, it grows better at home. If the remedies made from it are right for you, there is no need to roam the ravines or buy fees.

The grass propagates by seeds, root shoots or dividing the bush and grows well on the site or on the windowsill. Breeding it is not difficult if you know some of the features:

  • Collecting seeds. You can buy them or assemble them yourself. Cut off dried umbrellas, lay out for ripening, shake out the seeds.
  • Sowing. Execute directly into the ground, making shallow grooves, filling them with seeds and crushing them with earth. You can perform work in October or April. For spring sowing, stratify by keeping the seed in the refrigerator for XNUMX hours.
  • Landing site. The thigh is unpretentious to the soil, but at least for the first year it is better to grow it in fertile, fertilized soil, regularly watering it.
  • Transfer. Plant a three-year-old plant in rockeries, on rocky heaps. Saxifrage will grow, bloom in summer. When planting in pots, add a layer of expanded clay to the bottom to ensure drainage.

Until the plant has matured, the ground must be constantly weeded, weeds removed. It is not worth sheltering for the winter, it can withstand severe frosts.
