The author of the Memory of Dombkovskaya variety is Fedor Ilyich Shatilov, a breeder from the city of Orenburg. The variety was created in 1983. Its name, which today is known to gardeners all over the world, grapes received only in 1990. Shatilov named the variety in honor of the untimely deceased employee of the breeding station Yanina Adamovna Dombkovskaya.
