Grapes Dubovsky pink
The grape “Dubovsky pink” is a young hybrid variety created by an ordinary inhabitant of the village of Dubovka, Volgograd region, S. Gusev. Received as a result of crossing the famous “Delight of the Red” and “Jubilee of Novocherkassk”. The variety is characterized by undemanding growing conditions and high frost resistance.
Grape variety “Dubovsky pink” – the main qualities
The variety “Dubovsky pink” refers to table varieties. Differs in an early and rich harvest, good vigor and large berries. The bunches are loose, somewhat disheveled, conical in shape, weighing 1300-1500 grams.
The first harvest of “Dubovsky pink” ripens already 2-3 years after planting. Throughout the growing season, the berries have a pale green color, which turns into a deep pink a couple of days before full ripening. The berry mass reaches 20-22 grams.
Ripe fruits are characterized by high sugar content, at least 21% per 100 ml of finished juice, which indicates the highest quality of fruits.
The fruits have a delicate, sweet taste, firm pulp and thin skin. The largest berries can contain 1-2 seeds. According to tasters, the culture received 9,3 points out of 10. The hybrid is transportable and well stored.
Grapes “Dubovskiy pink” – a fruitful crop, therefore, requires strict rationing of brushes. In a sunny year, 18-22 kg of fruit can be harvested from one bush. The vine reaches a large size in 2-3 months, so it needs regular pruning.
Grapes “Dubovsky pink” – advantages and disadvantages
The grape variety “Dubovskiy rosy” has a lot of advantages. The main ones are:
- the presence of bisexual flowers on one bush. Thus, the hybrid becomes self-fertile and does not require additional pollinators;
- the safety of the brushes on the vine;
- resistance to most species diseases and pests;
- good winter hardiness. The culture can withstand up to -24 ° C, which allows it to be grown in climatic zones 5 and 6.
The culture calmly tolerates both lack and excess of water. Cuttings root quickly and easily, and the vine is distinguished by excellent health and rapid growth. These are the main advantages of this young but very promising variety.
The disadvantages include the impossibility of growing crops in more northern latitudes and susceptibility to powdery mildew. In addition, the sweet and juicy fruits attract many wasps, so the bunches have to be hidden in gauze bags or sprayed with acetic acid.
The variety “Dubovskiy rosy” is one of the selection successes of recent years. Due to its unpretentiousness and high yield, the hybrid will be of interest to both beginners and experienced gardeners.
