The Krasa grape variety is very popular among gardeners of the northern regions for its high resistance to severe frosts up to -35 degrees. At the same time, it is characterized by abundant productivity, ultra-fast ripening of berries and excellent taste. The fruits have a long shelf life, good transportability.
Description of the grape variety “Krasa”
The vine of the variety is distinguished by strong growth rates, during the season the shoots grow up to three meters. Bunches of medium size, loose structure, cylindrical shape, medium weight up to 400 g. Berries are small, green-yellow in color, sometimes with a pink tint. The pulp is juicy with a harmonious fruity taste and hints of sourness.
Grapes “Krasa” have many advantages, thanks to which they are very popular among winegrowers:
- high frost resistance;
- good immunity to fungal diseases;
- very early maturation;
- resistance to unfavorable temperature changes;
- high yield;
- excellent taste.
The variety gives a good harvest every year, begins to bear fruit in the second year after planting, the bunches are tied on almost all shoots, even with dormant and replacement buds. The fruits retain their presentation well, remaining on the bushes for a long time.
Features of planting and care
The site of soil for planting should be enriched in advance with mineral-organic fertilizers. Manure, peat and lime should be present in the soil in moderation. Grape seedlings must be hardened two weeks before planting. At the bottom of the pit, drainage from crushed stone is necessarily laid out, a support stake is installed in the center. To prevent subsidence of the roots, the planted seedling should be tied to a support. Carefully straighten the roots, compact the soil as much as possible, mulch the top layer with sawdust.
It is recommended to add a manganese solution to the water for watering the planted seedling, disinfecting the soil from infections and parasites
Caring for young grapes consists in observing the basic rules:
- loosening of the soil;
- application of fertilizers;
- regular irrigation;
- fungicide treatment;
- pruning;
- watering in dry weather.
Pruning grapes should be carried out in stages: in the spring, remove the frozen shoots, in the summer, cut off especially lush shoots, leaving the strongest branches, and in the fall, cut off the weak vines.
This variety is successfully grown in northern regions with unfavorable natural conditions. The unique properties allow you to get excellent fruits, and for good care it will respond with gratitude to a bountiful harvest of delicious berries.
