The drink has a fresh and rich taste of grapefruit with a characteristic light bitterness that makes it spicy.
The color of the finished product depends on the variety of grapefruit and can vary from pale pink to light red.
In the cooking process, you can use almost any alcohol base: vodka, alcohol, inexpensive cognac or moonshine without a strong odor. The strength of the finished liquor ranges from 29 to 34 degrees.

Ingredients
Grapefruit – 2 pc.
Vodka – 1 l
Granulated sugar – 400 g
Method of preparation
Scald grapefruits with boiling water, and rub well with a hard washcloth under running water to get rid of the wax that covers the fruit to extend the shelf life.
We cut the zest in a way convenient for you. It is important not to touch the white part, otherwise the finished liquor will be very bitter.
We shift the zest into a glass container and fill it with vodka.
Squeeze the juice from grapefruits and strain it through a strainer.
We cook sugar syrup from juice and granulated sugar.
After cooling the grapefruit syrup, pour it into a container for zest and vodka.
We let it brew for 2 weeks at room temperature without exposure to daylight. Be sure to shake the contents of the container every 2-3 days.
After the time has elapsed, we filter the finished liquor through gauze and pass through the filter.
Grapefruit drink is bottled, and after cooling we can start tasting.
Store liquor in a dark, cool place for no more than five years.
Alternative grapefruit liqueur recipe
Ingredients
Vodka – 500 ml of vodka
Grapefruit peel – at least two fruits
Sugar – 50-100 g
Method of preparation
Cut the grapefruit peel into slices, put in a jar and pour vodka to the top.
Leave in a dark place for 1 day, strain.
Add sugar to taste, stir until completely dissolved. Let it sit for a week or two.
Keep in a cool place.
Grapefruit tincture
Ingredients
Grapefruit – 1 pc.
Vodka or alcohol – 500 ml
Method of preparation
Peel the grapefruit, cut the peel and pulp, put everything in a jar, pour vodka or alcohol, cork and leave to infuse.
The longer this tincture is infused, the tastier it will be.
Strain the finished tincture, and squeeze the pulp through cheesecloth in 4-5 layers.
Then filter and cork into bottles.
Grapefruit liqueur is best enjoyed chilled neat, but it also pairs well with other ingredients in cocktails.
