Grapes Talisman has long ceased to be a novelty. The hybrid was obtained more than 30 years ago, so it managed to win the trust of gardeners. Frost resistance and large-fruitedness of the variety led to the fact that breeders bred new varieties on its basis. However, most growers prefer to cultivate an already proven hybrid, which consistently pleases with a high yield.
History of breeding

The parents are the crossed varieties Delight and White Beauty.
On the basis of Talisman grapes, domestic scientists have developed new varieties that have already proved themselves well in the collections of amateur gardeners.
By crossing the grapes Kodryanka and Talisman, the Athos variety was obtained with dark purple berries.
Description of the grape variety Talisman
The hybrid has only a female type of flower. To get a crop, you need to plant pollinators next to the Talisman. The best of them are: Kishmish-342, Augustin, KarMaKod, Aleshenkin.

The weight of one brush of the Talisman reaches 1 kg, on large formations it reaches 1,5 kg. The density of berries per bunch is average. There is almost no gore. The shape of the brushes is close to conical.
Berries
The fruits are white with a greenish tinge and waxy. At the time of full ripening, on the side facing the sun, the berries acquire a yellowish tan. They have an oval shape, rather large in size – 31×35 mm. Berry weight from 12 to 16 g.
The skin on the fruit is thin, almost not felt. The crop tolerates transportation well.
Vine
80-90% of shoots produce berries. One vine can form 1-2 clusters. If there are more brushes, they need to be thinned out. Otherwise, the grape bush will not withstand the load. It is recommended to leave 26-32 eyes on one plant.

In the lowlands there is stagnation of cold air. This will affect the performance and immunity of the bush. The soil should pass moisture well, the level of groundwater should not exceed 2,5 m.

So the roots and the vine will not interfere with each other. Reproduction is carried out by branches, seedlings, cuttings. The Talisman is planted in the spring (the event should be held before the buds open, that is, before the beginning of April) and in the fall (the optimal time is the end of October). A young seedling must be carefully covered.
When the bush is planted in the spring, the planting pit is prepared in the fall. Make organic and mineral top dressing. If grapes are planted in autumn, the hole is dug several weeks in advance. Hole parameters – length and width 70 cm, depth 70 cm. A drainage layer consisting of pebbles or crushed stone is laid at the bottom of the pit. Experts advise putting a vertical pipe in the hole. It is necessary for the implementation of root watering.
There should be no damage, broken or rotten branches on the seedling. Attention should be paid to the development of the root system.
Care instructions
The plant needs to be watered rarely, but plentifully. During the ripening period of berries, irrigation should not be skipped. Because the fruits will not be juicy. Waterlogging is fraught with rotting of the root system, the berries will turn out to be too watery, unsweetened.
Additional fertilizing
Hybrid Talisman prefers organic top dressing – wood ash and compost. In the spring, during the formation of the ovary, so that the forces of the plant do not go to the development of the crown, the portion of nitrogen fertilizers should be reduced.

Talisman grapes need an annual shortening of the shoots, carried out by a qualified specialist. The plant will not withstand overload with the ovary, the berries will turn out to be small, of poor quality.
Pruning is carried out in early spring. Do this before the juice begins its movement in the tissues. First, diseased, rotten, weak, frost-bitten branches are removed. Then they move on to the formation of a shrub. In summer, stepchildren and extra sprouts are broken out. It is better to do this immediately, before they become stiff.

Growers recommend taking preventive measures aimed at maintaining plant resistance to diseases. This is what will provide the Talisman with a high yield. To protect the shrub from the fungus during the growing season, it is necessary to treat it with a solution of copper sulfate in the spring.
Of the pests, wasps cause great damage to the crop. Berries contain a high percentage of sugar. When the fruits are ripe, the insects suck the juice out of them. With a small number of pests, you can get rid of them by placing a container nearby with poison dissolved in water.
When there are too many wasps, only special nets will help protect the crop from them.
Mesh bags are put on each bunch, after which the insects cannot feast on the juice.
