Granuflex extra thin is a hydrocolloid dressing for chronic wounds (leg ulcers due to venous and arterial insufficiency, bedsores, diabetic ulcers), as well as for acute and partial burns of I to II degree. It can be used at all stages of treatment, including necrotic wounds.

Granuflex extra thin – general characteristics

The Granuflex dressing is made of sodium carboxymethylcellulose, pectin and gelatin suspended in a polymer matrix. Granuflex dressings create a moist wound healing environment. Provides occlusion. Supports the removal of dead tissue from the wound by autolysis. It stimulates the regeneration of the epidermis. It protects the wound by providing an antibacterial barrier.

Granuflex extra thin – composition

Granuflex Extra Thin Dressing contains the active substance – active hydrocolloid, particles of carboxymethylcellulose (20%), gelatin (20%) and pectin (20%), suspended in a mass of hydrophobic sodium polyisobutylene (40%).

Granuflex extra thin – how to use

Granuflex extra thin must be used according to the operating instructions. First, use a Granuflex dressing sized to cover the wound with a 2 cm margin of healthy skin.

Remember, however, that the Granuflex dressing absorbs exudative fluids, the forming gel may be visible as a bubble beneath the outer surface of the dressing.

Then remove the silicone liner from the underside of the dressing. Avoid touching the adhesive surface with your fingers. After that, carefully apply the Granuflex dressing to the wound in one unfolding motion. Do not stretch the dressing.

For proper adhesion, smooth the dressing against the skin surrounding the wound. To remove the dressing, apply pressure to the skin with one hand and lift the edge of the dressing with the other. It is not recommended to leave the same dressing for more than 7 days.

The price of one dressing ranges from PLN 4,24 to PLN 11. One dressing is 10 × 10 cm2. The number of dressings needed depends on the degree of damage to the skin tissue. The treatment may cost from several dozen to several hundred zlotys.
