The famous French liqueur Grand Marnier (or rather, Grand Marnier) is today an integral element of elite receptions.
The history of Grand Marnier in brief
The drink was created in 1880 by the hereditary owner of one of the many French industries specializing in the manufacture of liqueurs, Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostol.
The creative master decided to mix an alcoholic extract of the unripe fruit of a wild-growing Caribbean orange with a young cognac brandy, and then send the resulting blend for five years in an oak barrel. As a result, he received an original forty-degree drink with an orange color, rich citrus flavor and a pronounced orange aroma with caramel, vanilla and oak notes.
As you can guess, the liqueur recipe is a company secret and is known only to a very narrow circle of people.
Views of Grand Marnier
To date, there are several diverse modifications of the famous orange liqueur.
Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge (Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge) – the same authentic drink that was released in 1880 and so loved by the current mistress of Buckingham Palace: Elizabeth II (God save the Queen!).
The liqueur is produced both in its original form and with cherry or raspberry-peach additives. Drink strength: 40%.
Grand Marnier Cordon Rong (Grand Marnier Cordon Jaune) is a purely cocktail version, in which banal grain alcohol is used instead of cognac brandy.
Gran Marnier Cuvette (Grand Marnier Cuvee) – this concept covers several rare or even collectible varieties of the drink, produced on the basis of genuine long-term cognacs.
The versatility of the taste and aromatic bouquet of the mentioned alcoholic creations fully corresponds to their rather tangible cost.
How to drink Grand Marnier
All varieties of French liquor of interest to us (of course, with the exception of cocktail) are widely used as a digestif. Traditionally, they are served in cognac snifters at room temperature.
Like all drinks of this kind, this digestif requires a respectful attitude.
It is drunk in small sips, interspersed with solid pauses, which allows not only to fully enjoy the taste and aroma of the royal drink, but also to pay tribute to its aftertaste.
How many degrees in Grand Marnier
The answer is simple: 40%, moreover, the same fortress is preserved in the entire line of Grand Marnier types.
