It is time for short meals, early dinners, small groups and chosen plans. Also, to support the hospitality industry and chefs and businessmen who adapt to these times with creativity, security for their employees and customers and without sacrificing the quality of their gastronomic offer. For those who cannot resist celebrating the most terrifying date of the year, here they go some Halloween proposals in Madrid.
Nothing suits Halloween better than a good Mexican. It is the case of Tepic (C / Ayala, 14), which from the hand of its chef, Sara Herrera, from Puebla, offers a special menu for the occasion, only available on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. It will be with a welcome punch, five traditional dishes (bean ball, tortilla soup, chicken tinga tostada, cochinita tamale and enmolada), cocoa dessert offering and typical drinks such as the Jamaican water or the Margarita with Tequila 8 prepared by the bartender Javier Quiñones.
Also The H is silent (which has just opened two other stores, still with the crisis, in General Oraá, 56, and in Federico Mompou, 4) the day of the dead is celebrated, in this case with its special Halloween burger, made with cheddar cheese, bacon, tomato, jalapeños and whiskey BBQ and available this weekend only. As always, with quality ingredients and own elaboration of all its menu.
In Mawey Cartel (C / Blasco de Garay, 10), chefs Fernando and Carrasco and Julián Barrios will remember their dead this weekend by inviting everyone who comes by for their burritos at an open beer bar. You must try the cochinita pibil with Oaxaca cheese and the chicken club.
Very sweet terror
To sweeten this Halloween, Mia Bakery (C / Víctor de la Serna 6, or miabakery.es) has prepared a pure cocoa cake with dark chocolate cream decorated with ghostly meringues. For those who do not fall for the chocolate, which there are, their cheesecake also adapts to the dates with the addition of pumpkin in the filling, ginger in the base of cookies and on top of it cream and salted caramel. Both, in version with and without sugar.
If the thing is for dessert, too Candela Madrid (C / Uruguay, 1) celebrates the feast of the witches by inviting dessert to all diners who pass by the excellent food house of Chamartín -decorated for the occasion- this Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 to lunch or dinner. It will be a cheese coulant with pumpkin and earth coulis and chocolate, created by pastry chef Jorge Pérez-Juste, trained at El Celler de Can Roca.
The toast
A good cocktail is always in the mood. Like the one you propose for this Halloween Gran Vía 55, which will last the night of the 31st, will serve the best tequila-based ones with the collaboration of José Cuervo.
The Mexican Santita (Virgen de los Peligros, 10), meanwhile, invites you to celebrate the most terrifying night of the year with “The Dead Lifting”, made with rum, strawberry puree, umeshu and lemon. They will serve it throughout the bridge.
