Google My business for the hosteleria
The more information you generate and control on the internet, the more and better appearances you will have on the Google results pages.
I have constantly told you about the information that your website must provide to appear in these results, but not all the information is controlled from there.
In order to control the information that Google presents on its pages, you must create an account on Google My Business.
So here is what you can do with that account, and you will see why it is very convenient for you to have one.
1. You will control the hours and business days
From your account you can control, edit, configure and change practically everything related to the information of your establishment:
- Address and / or exact location on google map
- Regular hours and for special days
- Contact numbers
- A direct access to your website

2. You manage the reviews
A common complaint of many hoteliers, and businessmen in general, is the lack of control over what people comment on the internet about their businesses. Google My Business allows you to manage reviews, respond to them, and mark them as inappropriate.
These reviews will appear on the Google results page, on the right hand side, averaging the ratings (each comment or review is accompanied by a 1-5 rating that is averaged).
3. Post directly on Google page
This function is one of the most attractive for any business: search for a business, you will see on the right side all the company’s file, such as hours, address, etc.
Well, if you have your Google My Business account, you can place publications directly in that section, without your customers having to go to your website.
You can publish offers, new products, announcements, links…, simply by following the steps that the google my businees web application is giving us regarding publications.

It is no longer necessary for your customers to visit your website to see the menu of your restaurant, Google already does it for you from the results page.

5. Detailed statistics
You will be able to have a much more complete view of the online activity of your restaurant. If Google Analytics tells you the activity of your website, who arrives and what they do, Google My Business tells you other kinds of things:
- How many views of your photos and publications your business has had
- The busiest hours during the day (this will be known by those who look for you)
- How many phone calls have you had thanks to Google searches
- How many requests to get to your restaurant were there on the Google map
- How many actions did your clients take, and the details of each one of them
