The birthplace of the Golden Boch brand is the Kaluga brewery. The enterprise was built in the late 70s, but it did not start producing beer right away. Initially, non-alcoholic and hard drinks were produced. The situation changed after the purchase of the enterprise by SABMiller Rus. The production areas have been expanded and modernized. The first bottle of beer “Zolotaya Bochka” was released in 1999.
The enterprise is fully automated and equipped with modern equipment. Anyone can be convinced of this on a free tour, where technical experts reveal all the secrets of making a foamy drink. The appearance of the Zolotaya Bochka brand was preceded by a two-year marketing study of consumer tastes. The technology is based on the natural way of fermentation.
Production time takes up to 18 days. Malt varieties from Germany and hops brought from the Czech Republic are used. The production is fully automated, all stages are monitored by operators thanks to special software. Yeast varieties vary by brand. The finished drink undergoes control over more than four dozen quality indicators before being sent for sale.

At the Belgian competition Monde Selection, the product was awarded a gold medal twice – in 2003 and 2006.
