The manufacturer’s website says that this is cognac made from distillates that are in no way inferior to the best French ones. Grapes are grown in the southern regions of Russia, cognac spirits are already supplied to the Urals, which are filtered here, blended and poured into barrels for aging. Zolotoy Reserve is the first cognac brand of the Perm Wine and Vodka Factory.
Historical reference. Until 2017, OJSC Perm Wine and Vodka Plant was called Uralalco, so for now, this name of the manufacturer is still marked on vodka and cognac bottles. Although in 2017 the plant was renamed and is now called “Bastion”.
The enterprise was founded in the military year of 1942, when the Leningrad winery was evacuated to Perm. At its facilities, a new production was created, where they did not produce, but bottled still and sparkling, fortified and dry wines. Already in the post-war sixties, the plant was reconstructed, equipment was modernized, new capacious wine cellars were built with the ability to store up to three million liters of wine. But due to the fact that wine materials had to be transported from the southern Russian regions, in 1990 they decided to re-profile the enterprise. A new and spacious workshop was completed – a vodka shop, and an alcohol store. By 2000, the company was producing 60 types of vodka.
In 2003, Uralalco was sold to the Synergy holding, which is now renamed BELUGA GROUP. And until 2000, not only vodka was bottled here, but also cognacs of brands belonging to the holding. And then the company thought about creating their own brand. She became the cognac “Golden Reserve”. In 2013, two more drinks were created – “The Old Guard”, and then “Stone Lion”. Today, the company’s assortment includes three more cognac brands – “Ardeli”, “Georgievsky” and the name “Bastion”, which appeared on sale in 2018.
In 2015, the plant was modernized, the latest European equipment was installed, a new cognac workshop was built with capacities up to two million decaliters and warehouses for 8 square meters. According to the results of 2017, Bastion entered the top five leaders of Russian cognac production – it produced 900 thousand decalitres of cognac.
