Anyone who has ever left home knows that anything can happen on a trip. For severe cases, you should have life insurance, and for minor troubles like a skinned knee, a first aid kit. So, how to assemble a first-aid kit for a holiday abroad competently, without unnecessary tubes and jars, but at the same time take everything you need? First, if you are constantly taking any medications (even if they are just regular birth control pills), buy an extra pack and put it in a large waterproof cosmetic bag designed to carry your medications. It is better if this cosmetic bag is of some incredibly bright color so that it can be quickly found in a heap of things.
In addition to constantly taking medications, you need to take the following:
– a bandage (regular and elastic – in case you twist your leg),
– adhesive plaster,
– ointment that relieves pain with sprains.
If you travel to another country, digestive problems may occur, and other water and food may disturb digestion. Therefore, you must take with you:
– remedy for indigestion (for example, imodium),
– means for improving digestion (activated carbon, enterosgel),
– remedy for heartburn.
You need to find out in advance if there are any rare rare diseases in your chosen direction (for example, malaria, plague or yellow fever), in this case, be sure to get vaccinated before leaving. It is useful to have with you:
– repellents (including those that scare away fleas that carry the plague bacillus),
– gel for hand disinfection.
If you are going on a beach holiday, please bring:
– spray with panthenol (for sunburn, relieves pain and reduces skin redness),
– balsam “Rescuer”,
– antivirals for colds,
– antihistamines (for example, claritin – it does not cause drowsiness),
– vasoconstrictor nasal drops,
– disinfectant eye drops (for conjunctivitis – this is a common problem when bathing in not too clean water).
