Glycerin for hair: hair care at home. Video

Not so long ago, glycerin was used only in the production of household chemicals, adding it in small quantities. Currently, it is widely used by various manufacturers of cosmetics. You can also make an excellent hair care product based on glycerin at home.

Glycerin is very often used in the manufacture of cosmetic products. It is known to be an excellent moisture keeper. In addition, glycerin effectively softens and moisturizes both the scalp and hair. This happens due to the accumulation and transportation of moisture deep into the epidermis.

Thus, glycerin does not allow hair scales and skin cells to dry out, while maintaining the optimal amount of moisture.

Glycerin is a chemical that has a viscous consistency. By itself, it is odorless and colorless. Glycerin is used in the manufacture of household chemicals.

Not so long ago, the list of similar products included only:

  • dishwashing liquid
  • skin creams
  • soap

To date, this list has greatly expanded and also includes hair products. This is due to the fact that such products perfectly moisturize and soften curls, giving them a healthy shine and strength.

Glycerin has exceptional benefits for making hair beautiful and healthy. However, this does not mean that you should immediately run to the nearest store and buy up all the funds that it is part of. Remember: everything is good in moderation.

When using glycerin, the rule “the more the better” does not work. No matter how much of this substance you use, the effect will be the same. That is why you should not pour glycerin in liters on your hair.

Using glycerin too often on your hair can have a completely different effect than you expect it to. Over time, the curls will get used to this substance, and the positive properties will cease to act on them.

Like any other cosmetic product, you should not overuse glycerin.

You can prepare a glycerin-based cosmetic product yourself without leaving your home. You shouldn’t be surprised. Homemade shampoos and masks that contain glycerin are very popular nowadays. They will cost you inexpensively, and you can independently control the composition of the cosmetic product.

You can buy liquid glycerin in specialized departments of large shopping centers or a pharmacy. As a rule, it is bottled in small bottles of 30-50 ml. To make your own shampoo or other useful cosmetic product, you will need exactly half of this container. There are several proven recipes.

To prepare a mask to add shine to your hair, prepare:

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (flaxseed, burdock or olive)
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons of brandy
  • 2 tablespoons glycerin

The presented components should be mixed well. The mask is applied to slightly damp clean hair with massaging movements. After that, they should be wrapped in plastic wrap or a bag. Wrap your hair with a terry towel on top.

After 20-30 minutes, the mask must be thoroughly washed off with warm running water with the addition of a small amount of shampoo

By the way, you can also prepare shampoo yourself.

To do this you will need:

  • 1 tablespoon baby soap or finely grated soap base
  • 1 tablespoon of lime blossom
  • 1 tablespoon oak bark
  • 2 tablespoons chamomile flowers
  • 20 ml glycerin

First you need to prepare a decoction of the herbs presented in the list. To do this, the collection is poured with a glass of boiling water and covered with a lid. After 40 minutes, the broth is filtered. Soap base and glycerin are added to it. You can also add a teaspoon of any vegetable oil if desired. This will enhance the effect of the cosmetic.

It is recommended to use ready-made shampoo no more than once a week.

After the first application, you will notice visible results. Your hair will feel softer and more hydrated.

No less popular is a gelatin-based glycerin hair mask. It is prepared very simply. A tablespoon of gelatin should be diluted with warm water and heated in a water bath for 10–20 minutes until it is completely dissolved. After that, a tablespoon of vegetable (almond, olive, burdock or peach) oil, 2 tablespoons of glycerin are added to the resulting consistency. All components are thoroughly mixed.

The mask is applied to clean, damp curls with massaging movements

After that, it is recommended to put on a plastic shower cap and wrap your hair with a terry towel. After 30 minutes, the mask is washed off with warm running water. This procedure is recommended to be carried out 1-2 times a month.
