Historical information

The history of Masoliver Olivas began in 1979, when the Spanish entrepreneur Ramon Masoliver founded his first trading business. At first, the company was engaged in the sale of Catalan wines in the tourist areas of Spain and in regional chains. In the 1990s, the purchase of several well-known brands enabled the company to enter the international market.

In 1994, the Beveland company was added to the family business, which was created to produce and distribute spirits under its own brands. A distillery in the Dominican Republic began operations in 2009, and seven years later a modern facility was built in northern Spain. Currently, Masoliver Olivas owns more than one and a half thousand alcohol brands represented in 65 countries of the world.

Whiskey Glen Silver’s was one of the first products designed specifically for export. The brand is named after master distiller Arthur Silver, with whom Masoliver met and became friends during a trip to the distilleries in Scotland. With the help of Silver, the Spanish entrepreneur was able to thoroughly study the entire process of making whiskey, including the choice of raw materials, malting, distillation and blending.

Whiskey is bottled at a factory in the city of Girona. The company purchases malt and grain distillates from Highland and Speyside distilleries. Aged spirits are stored in barrels in the basement of the enterprise. The production is fully automated, there are three bottling lines, designed to produce 70 thousand bottles of products per day.
