Glasses, flashlight and other things that cannot be stored in the car
Sometimes it seems that in the car we spend half the life. It is no wonder that there are a lot of subjects that go there, who have no direct relation to driving.
The heat has come, which means that all the places in the shade will be occupied by cars. No wonder, because in the sun the salon can heat up like a real sauna! And on such days, you certainly should not leave in the car, for example, electronics and aerosol cans. What else cannot be stored in a car? We will tell you in our material.
Just in case, we remind you: you should not carry things with you, to which traffic police officers may have questions. For example, an ax under a seat or a baseball bat. This is not prohibited by law, but unpleasant moments can still arise. However, there are other things that look harmless, but you should never keep them in the car at all.
1. Medicines
Pharmaceutical manufacturers recommend storing tablets and medicines at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees. And in the warm season, the temperature inside the cabin is 50-60 degrees. In such heat, medicines deteriorate and lose their properties – at best. At worst, they can turn into poison.
2. Electronics
Smart gadgets and high temperatures are very bad friends. More precisely, they are not friends at all. Overheating may even cause your phone battery to explode. To return to the car and find a blazing fire in its place – hardly anyone will like this.
3. Sunscreen
Yes, we agree, it’s stupid to carry them back and forth with you if you go to sunbathe in a car. But when overheated, lotion or milk quickly becomes useless: the substances that are designed to protect our skin from the sun are destroyed. The optimum temperature for storing sunscreens is no higher than 25 degrees.
4. Glasses
Even if you only wear them while driving. Leave them in the glove compartment on a hot day and the plastic frame will certainly float. Or it gets deformed, which is also unpleasant.
5. Aerosol cans
Deodorant or insect repellent – what not to find after a picnic! But it is not in vain that they write on cans under pressure: do not heat, store at room temperature. If the temperature exceeds room temperature for a long time, the cartridge may explode. And everything will be according to the scenario from point two – an explosion, a fire, losses, tears.
6. Water in a plastic bottle
No, it won’t explode. But you shouldn’t leave water in the car, even if you are a fan of warm water. The fact is that when heated, phenols are released from the plastic, which enter the water, and then into your stomach. Accumulating in the body, these substances can cause cancer. The second disadvantage: safety experts conducted an experiment, leaving a bottle of water in the car, and the car itself under the bright sun. The seat under the bottle caught fire – the magnifying glass effect was triggered.
7. Products
Everything is obvious here – they will deteriorate. And what cannot turn sour or rotten will fade and become simply unappetizing. At a temperature of about 30 degrees, food can be left in no more than an hour. And up to 30 degrees, the interior warms up after 10 minutes of standing in the sun, if it’s only 21 degrees outside. And if the normal summer 26 is above zero, then after 10 minutes in the cabin it will be already under 40.
8. Wet clothes
Well, then you yourself understood everything. It will not dry out in the car, but will go rotten, it will smell bad, and if the smell does not break through the tight bag, it will become moldy. How many bacteria and other rubbish will be in it – it is easier to throw away the thing than to get rid of mold and infection.
9. Crayons
They should always be with you, going for a walk with children. And not necessarily colored chalk from our childhood. Now there are wax, for example, which is much more convenient. And with the guarantee they will turn your car into a still-life of a mad artist if they overheat.
10. Torch
Any flashlight – well, almost any – has batteries. Which, as we have already found out, should never be heated. Exposure to high temperatures can cause the battery to leak and damage the flashlight.
11. Cosmetic bag
Putting on makeup while driving is no longer an anecdote. Anything can happen, sometimes you need to fix your makeup in the middle of the day and on the way from one meeting to another. So why not keep a cosmetic bag in the glove compartment? But because cosmetics even in the bathroom deteriorate at the speed of sound. And in a warm car, it will deteriorate even faster. Isn’t it a pity for money?
12. Lighter
According to one of the major insurance agencies, the liquid inside the lighters often flows if the outside is too hot. Because of this, the situation inside the car becomes literally explosive.
13. Gum
If it is overheated, the chewing gum becomes too sticky and sticks anywhere: to the teeth, to the hands, to the seat. And if it freezes, it becomes as hard as a stone, and, moreover, it loses its aroma.
