The rocks glass is one of the most common glasses that can be found in any bar. This glass is especially popular in establishments where there is high traffic and speed of service. Its volume is from 200 to 400 ml.
Many people think that a rock glass and an old fashioned glass are one and the same, and to some extent this is true. The main differences between them are in volume and shape. Old fashion has an elongated straight shape, rock is also elongated, but cone-shaped.
In a glass of rocks, it is customary to serve both pure drinks (mainly whiskey, brandy, gin and rum) and various cocktails. In some cases, cocktails are served in the rox so that bar patrons do not break more expensive and fragile dishes.
