A series of nylon noodle scoops (known as scrapers) was withdrawn from sale on July 9, 2021, after the manufacturer notified GIS of the possibility of migration of harmful substances contained in them to food. These substances are aromatic amineswhich may adversely affect the health of consumers. The GIS investigation is ongoing in this case. The manufacturer – the company Tadar from Swarzędz – undertakes to accept any returns and transfer them for disposal.

Eggs with Salmonella
Another product withdrawn from sale (July 8, 2021) is class A eggs, weight category L, delivered to stores by Invest Michel. The company took steps to withdraw a specific batch of eggs from sale immediately after receiving information from the County Veterinary Doctor. The farm where the eggs came from was also informed.
Based on tests carried out by the State Sanitary Inspection the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis on eggshells. GIS warns – consumption of this product without proper heat treatment or possible transfer of bacteria from eggs to other surfaces can lead to infection and salmonellosis.
Consumers who purchased a product from the questioned production batch are requested by the company to contact us (tel. 606 990 211). All those who return the product or its part together with the packaging (necessary for identification of the product batch) will be returned the full value product or the cost of purchasing the product.
Harmful grits from Biedronka
On June 24, GIS announced the withdrawal from the sale of a batch of buckwheat groats “Harvest of nature”, produced for Jeronimo Martins (Biedronka) by the company Sawex Foods. On the basis of representative tests carried out by the State Sanitary Inspection, this product was found exceeding the maximum level of pesticide residues – chlorpyrifos.
