GIF withdrew Groprinosin Max from the market

The Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate withdrew from sale in Poland three series of popular Groprinosin Max drops. According to the manufacturer, the drug has an antiviral and immune-boosting effect. However, the effectiveness of protection against microbes has not been demonstrated in the course of the research, and Groprinosin Max must disappear from pharmacies.

Three batches of the medicinal product are disappearing from the domestic market Groprinosin Max 250 mg / ml oral drops with batch numbers:

  1. F89138A expiration date September 2020, 09
  2. F8C041A expiration date 2020/12/31
  3. F8C042A expiration date 2020/12/31

The GIF decision is immediately enforceable. The entity responsible for the medicinal product is the Gedeon Richter Polska Sp. z o. o

Why do popular drops have to disappear from pharmacies? As we read in the justification of the decision, Groprinosin Max has been examined by the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products, which allows drugs to be marketed and supervises the safety of their use.

In the course of the research, Groprinosin Max was shown to be “ineffective in antimicrobial protection”. Due to the possibility of drug infection, it was decided to withdraw the drops from the market.
