By the decision of the Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, a series of eye drops is withdrawn from trading throughout the country. The reason for the withdrawal was pollution.
GIF withdrew from the national market Latanost (Latanoprostum) eye drops, solution 0,05 mg / ml, lot no. B240367, expiry date 02.2016.
On July 3, 2015, the General Pharmaceutical Inspector received the protocol from the tests carried out at the National Medicines Institute. The ruling from the protocol states that the sample, in the scope of the tested parameters, does not meet the requirements of the manufacturer’s specification due to the exceeded limit for single unknown impurities related to latanoprost and particles invisible to the naked eye.
The decision was made immediately enforceable.
The indications of the drug are the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and intraocular hypertension.
