What are the faults?

What problems can you fix yourself?
Despite the design simplicity, it is not recommended to repair a gas-fired water heater on your own. This is especially true for models saturated with automation. If you properly operate the device, it is able to work smoothly for many years. However, there comes a time when repairs are needed. Among the reasons for premature wear of parts and assemblies is the non-compliance of gas and water with standards. On your own, you can deal with such malfunctions:
- It ignites poorly or does not ignite at all. Reasons – there is no draft due to clogging of the hood or violations in the organization of ventilation. With poor draft, the system does not allow fuel to flow into the igniter. Checking the draft is an elementary matter, it is enough to bring a burning match closer to the hood. If there is draft, the flame will move towards the hole. Clogging can be removed on your own – remove soot. Another reason is battery drain. If the model has electronic ignition, it is necessary to change the batteries periodically.
- Bad pressure. With a low pressure, the device also often does not ignite. The system prevents the supply of fuel if the pressure does not reach the minimum allowable value of 0,15 atm. Check the water supply – if the pressure is normal, the problem lies elsewhere – perhaps the membrane is deformed or the mixer filters are clogged. You will have to change the filters, the membrane, and also clean the pipes.
- The igniter goes out. The reason is that the water supply is incorrectly adjusted. It is forbidden to open a cold tap when the column is on – this violation can cause a breakdown. Heating is regulated only by the supply of blue fuel.
- During ignition, pops are heard. There are several reasons – poor traction, discharged batteries, too much gas supply, clogging. You can solve only the first two problems on your own – clean the chimney and change the batteries. Other problems are best left to the gas workers. Another reason is the lack of gas. If the problem is in the gas pipeline, call the gas service, it is forbidden to fix such breakdowns on your own. I had to figure it out – I did not immediately understand how it works. I read the description – it says that the heat exchanger is made of copper. Looking from below, I found – there are only aluminum parts. You probably need to remove the shroud to see the heatsink. Heating is not as fast as I would like. The first seconds the water is very cold, after 10 seconds it gets warmer. I think maybe it’s because of the old system of pipes and their passage through the basement. When you turn on one point – a very powerful warm flow. The temperature depends on the pressure – it must be regulated. I read in the reviews that a performance of 10 l / min is only enough for one point, but I think it is possible to turn on two points at the same time – if I went to wash in the bathroom, my wife can wash the dishes in the kitchen, if not hot, then warm water. Not the best purchase, but for 5 rubles it is quite acceptable.

Why did I just buy it. Not amenable to any setting. Of the advantages, only one – the appearance. I fell for the beautiful design and cheapness. Nothing but irritation. If you turn on the shower – it’s cold, I switch to the faucet – it’s hot. It works quietly – as promised, but it is uncomfortable to use. To have a hot stream – a constant one, you need a strong pressure. While you are washing, the device turns off by itself – it is cold. The same thing happens in the kitchen – as soon as the pressure subsides, the gas goes out. I have to turn on the water to the maximum, and when I wash the dishes, there are splashes all around.
