When I finally got tired of the seasonal shutdowns of hot water, I decided to install a column. Since the case was 6 years ago, there was not much choice. For the price and design, I liked the Turkish Demrad-C 150 S. The main thing is that it has a compact body, because my kitchen is small.

The performance is enough to wash in the shower, wash the dishes. With a set of baths there are problems, you have to wait a long time. In general, for domestic needs a great option. I thought about buying more powerful equipment, but this one has been serving for 6 years without breakdowns – it’s a pity to change it. Moreover, it works for me all the time, I do not turn it off at night.

As for management. Initially set a comfortable temperature, the regulator is in the middle position. Therefore, I do not dilute the water, it immediately comes out warm. The burner is ignited by piezo ignition, which does not always work. The security features are great. If the wick goes out, the device will automatically turn off.

Of the minuses: it does not start at low pressure, which often happens in the summer. I still recommend to buy, this is a time-tested technique.

The flow heater is designed for a capacity of 14 l/min. Heating power 29 kW. It has a closed combustion chamber, is connected to a coaxial chimney, which is brought out into the street through the wall. The products of combustion are removed by means of a fan.

I bought Demrad C-125 B for the country. A great option for the summer period, and the performance is enough. I did the installation myself – no problem. The case is easily hung, no chimney arrangement is required. I clean it for the winter so that the equipment does not freeze and does not deteriorate. I noticed only one drawback when connecting – it is inconvenient to get to the conclusions, they are located at the back wall.

Malfunctions of columns “Demrad”

Water heaters are also prone to failure. The manufacturer has equipped them with a self-diagnosis system. In the event of a breakdown, an error code is displayed on the display. Its decoding is in the instructions. The value indicates the cause and location of the fault.

But not all problems are accompanied by errors. Some you may notice during operation. We will tell you in which cases it is possible to carry out repairs, and in which it is better to call the master.

Most often, users complain that the wick does not light in the Demrad technique. What’s the matter:

• The igniter is clogged. This happens when soot and dust accumulate. You can clean the element with fine-grained sandpaper. Close the gas valve before starting work. After cleaning, open the feed and check the ignition.

• Thermocouple does not work. This element consists of two types of metal and serves to start or stop the supply of fuel. If the thermocouple does not work and the gas does not flow, then the wick does not light up. The part cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced.
• Traction problems. The draft is the flow of air that provides a stable flame in the burner. If there are problems with ignition, check for draft. Light a match and bring it to the control window or ventilation. With normal air flow, the flame will deviate to the side. If it burns steadily, clean the chimney shaft. The coaxial pipe also needs to be cleaned. Condensation often accumulates inside.
• Filter clogging. Most speakers will not turn on without proper water pressure. A clogged inlet filter can obstruct the flow. Shut off the water supply, remove and wash the filter. If the mesh is very clogged, leave it to soak in a solution of citric acid. Replace if worn.
• Diaphragm (membrane) problems. This element helps to open the gas valve. When the flow of water increases, it creates pressure on the membrane. It bends, the valve opens, fuel enters the burner. To check, dismantle the column casing. The membrane is part of the water block. In case of wear, deformation, install a new part.

• Solenoid valve failure. He is responsible for supplying fuel to the burner. If valve does not open, repair or replace.
• Air supply problems. A strong draft contributes to extinguishing the wick. In atmospheric devices, the lack of air circulation prevents ignition. Provide good ventilation in the room.
• Traction sensor failed. Call him a tester. Attach the probes to the sensor terminals. A serviceable part will show infinity. Otherwise, a working element must be connected.
• Dead batteries in electronic devices. Open the block (the cover is fastened with latches or a screw). Take out the old batteries and put in new ones.

• Check if the gas valve is open.
• Faulty microswitch or its stem. Carry out diagnostics, if it breaks, replace it.
