Geranium: medicinal properties and contraindications, tips

😉 Greetings to my constant and new readers! In the article “Geranium: medicinal properties and contraindications, tips” – basic information about the popular houseplant. What does geranium heal and who can it harm?

Indoor geranium has several names: pelargonium and kalachik. Blooming geraniums on the windowsill create home comfort, especially when it rains in autumn or winter.

Why do we love geraniums? She is beautiful! Its rounded leaves come with a border; flowers can be white, red, pink, and have many shades. This perennial plant has about 300 species!

For the first time this plant was “discovered” by the English naturalist and traveler John Tradescant, his life years 1570-1638. In Russia, this flower appeared under Catherine II. Geraniums and several species of plants for the empress’s garden were sent by George III, the English king.

There is a belief that homemade pelargonium is a talisman that protects the house from the “evil eye” and energy vampires. In a house where there is a “kalachik”, there are always fewer quarrels and more kindness.

In the old days, in order to keep the jam from mold, housewives put a piece of pelargonium in a jar on top of the jam. Planting geraniums in the garden will scare away the snakes. People say: “Where geranium grows, a snake will not crawl there.”
