Genital warts – symptoms, treatment

I came back two weeks ago from vacation, while taking a bath, I noticed strange pink spots around the vagina, I have the impression that also around the anus and thighs.

They are not painful, but nevertheless worried me very much. Is it an allergy to intimate hygiene gel or there may be some other reason. What should I do? ~ paUla

Genital warts are caused by infection with HPV types 11, 13. They take the form of cauliflower eruptions around the natural openings of the human body, most often around the vulva and anus.

  1. Pre-neoplastic conditions and malignant tumors of the vulva

Treatment consists in removing them, for example with a laser. You can also use cryotherapy or destructive drugs, but the latter treatment is long-lasting and requires discipline from the woman. Usually, laser treatments or cryotherapy are one-off.

However, before such a diagnosis is made, it is worth checking other causes of this condition, e.g. allergy, infections. Unfortunately, you cannot do it yourself and you should go to the gynecologist to see the changes.
