PSYchology

The general development of a person is the development of intellectual, mental and physical capabilities, the development of his abilities and skills that are useful for a wide range of life situations.

I learned to read, got acquainted with the classics — this is all for the general cultural development. I ran around the park, worked out with dumbbells — this is general physical training, general physical training and development.

This often also includes the development of opportunities that give a person physical development, martial arts and various systems of psychophysical self-regulation.

General development differs from special development, for example, professional development, where the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities are needed only in a narrowly professional field.

General development and personality development

Personal development is part of the overall development of a person, but has its own specifics. If a teacher adds new knowledge to me, this does not automatically make me a different person, does not change my Personality, my deep essence and value orientation. These are only external, quantitative changes. This is a general development, and not the development of an individual. If the teacher taught me to study on my own and with desire, made me want to study, I became different. Deep, internal, qualitative personal changes took place in me, personal growth and development took place.

Development and training

As for developing trainings, general and professional development is carried out by instrumental trainings, and personal development is carried out by trainings of personality development.
