Gel nail extension: how to apply glitter
Glitter is used to decorate gel nails. You can apply them both in the salon and on your own. But you should be prepared for the fact that at first the glitter will roll off the nails and be unevenly distributed, but after several training applications you will perform this procedure almost like a professional.
So, to apply glitter to the gel, you need to get:
- tweezers to remove cuticles;
- orange tree chopsticks;
- a nail file;
- polishing bar;
- base and modeling gel;
- dry glitter;
- brushes and sponge;
- lint-free napkins to wipe brushes;
- drying lamp.
The glittering process consists of several stages. First, you need to prepare your nails for gel. You need to do the following: remove the cuticle with special tweezers or a liquid containing acids. Be sure to remove any burrs as well as skin ridges along the edges of your nails. A hard nail file can be used for this procedure. Then you need to apply a base gel and wait for it to dry. This is indicated by the matt color.
The gel can now be applied to help shape the nails. After drying your nails under the lamp, you must apply a layer of this gel, after adding glitter to it.
To avoid the formation of lumps, diligently mix the glitter with the gel. The amount of sparkles will depend on how bright you want your manicure to be in the end result.
Take a plastic palette and mix a dose of gel, glitter and sparkling dust in it. Control the thickness of the resulting mixture. Use a small flat brush to apply the mixture to your nails. It can be both synthetic and natural. You can also use an art brush, which will provide a high-quality coverage of the entire surface of the nail.
After the nails are dry, you will need to create a glossy finish. To do this, take a high-gloss finish and gently apply it to your nails.
If you want a thick layer of glitter, apply a dry consistency of glitter to the modeling gel using an orange stick. Remove excess glitter, add another layer of modeling gel and glossy finish.
You don’t have to dwell on small glitters and add a few large ones. Only after applying them, you definitely need to fix the layer with transparent gel.
