Geisha balls: everything about this sex toy and its use for the perineum

What do geisha balls look like?

Geisha balls currently sold in stores and on the internet are generally presented in the form of two silicone or plastic balls, linked together by a wire. They are generally between 2 and 5 cm in diameter. Each ball itself contains one or more balls which move according to the movements of the vagina.

Geisha balls: origin and history

As their name suggests, Geisha balls were used in Japan by geishas, artists and companions, in order to maintain good tone in the perineum and vaginal muscles. It is said that these sex objects allowed them to keep a sex as toned as that of a virgin woman.

When they are made of semi-precious stone, we also speak ofjade eggs, which are mainly used in the sexual practices of Taoism and Tantrism.

Geisha balls: what use as a sextoy?

Tantric sex can result in a set of rules and practices including meditation and the discovery of bodies, aimed among other things at promoting the release of sexual energies, and controlling the rise of desire, crescendo until orgasm.

The idea being to control your sexual energy, by delaying the orgasm as much as possible, and this by a greater knowledge of his body. This is where Geisha balls come in.

These make it possible to become aware of your perineum, to work on the pelvic floor, and to strengthen all the perineal muscles, which increases the sexual pleasure tenfold.

When considered as a sex toy, each of the Geisha balls generally contains one or more metal balls whose movements are reflected in the wall of the vagina. Associated with stimulation of the clitoris, these felt vibrations can cause contractions, stimulate the G-spot and lead to orgasm.

Building your perineum with Geisha balls, instructions for use

The principle is simple: by inserting the Geisha balls, the user is forced to keep your perineum slightly contracted to prevent them from sliding outside the vagina. In addition, the vibrations resulting from the movements of the metal balls which they contain sometimes generate reflex contractions.

The Geisha balls are inserted like a tampon, but preferably in the lying position, for a better relaxation of the perineum. It is obviously advisable to clean the Geisha balls well before use, to empty your bladder beforehand for ease, and to use lubricant to help insertion.

Once the geisha balls are inserted, making sure that the string comes out for easy removal later, you can go about your usual business.

Geisha balls can be worn everyday, for 10 to 30 minutes if you perform perineal weight training exercises with these (contractions / relaxations), or longer (without exceeding a few hours or before any feeling of discomfort) if they are used passively.

Geisha balls and perineum: they do not replace perineal rehabilitation

If they already allow you to become aware of your perineum, to learn to contract or relax it, and therefore to strengthen it, Geisha balls are not always sufficient to re-educate the perineum, especially after childbirth.

However, geisha balls are complementary to care by a health professional (midwife or physiotherapist), who will have previously carried out a perineal assessment to assess the tone of this set of muscles. The care will then be adapted and personalized according to the condition of the perineum, where perineal self-rehabilitation performed alone with geisha balls is not necessarily well done or adapted. It is therefore better, at least initially, to seek advice from a midwife or a physiotherapist, who will judge the usefulness of perineum rehabilitation sessions and the use of Geisha balls at home.
