Gastronomy in Cartagena with a Flavor of the Sea

The gastronomic days of the city of Cartagena celebrate their second edition with a very special slogan, “Sabor a Mar”.

Cartagena with Sea Flavor, It is the second time that it has summoned the best kitchens in the municipality, and in the assigned premises you will be able to taste the best of each cuisine, from today July 15 until the next day 23.

The gastronomic event is organized by the Cartagena City Council and the Association of Hospitality and Tourist Accommodation Entrepreneurs of Cartagena and the Region (HOSTECAR). They also have the collaboration of the Association of Aquaculture Companies of the Region of Murcia (FARM).

The menus that will be served by the attached restaurants in the fishing district of Santa Lucía and the Puerto Marítimo will range between 12 and 18 euros, and also a wide selection of tapas at a price of 2 euros.

The sessions were presented on the morning of Thursday, July 12, by the Councilor for Tourism and Fisheries, Obdulia Gómez, the president of Hostecar, Juan José López, the president of the Federation of Aquaculture of the Region of Murcia, Juan Manuel Aguirre , and the head of the Fisheries and Aquaculture service, Emilio María Dolores.

After the presentation, at seven in the afternoon there was a live cooking exhibition of one of the dishes that will be offered in one of the establishments attached to the event, together with a sample of each of the dishes cooked with fish from the different restaurants.

Texture, freshness and quality from the sea

There will be nine restaurants in the town, which will cook their best dishes with fish, from the activity of the local aquaculture and the rest of the Murcia region,

As proof of the sustainability concept, the raw material used will be all raised in different marine fish farms, along the entire warm coast, which is called the Murcian coastline.

The importance of caring for autochthonous species with the proliferation of extensive fishing, has made the fundamental piece of the event are the seafood raised for consumption.
