Gastronomy and Design at VDW 2015

Throughout a whole week, the city of Valencia will bring together the best designers and artisans of the moment with chefs and culinary artists at the Valencia Disseny Week 2015 (VDW) event.

The event is promoted by ADCV Designers Association of the Valencian Community, and has among its collaborators FoodDesign, LaNau, Valencia Handicraft Center, Nectar and Italian Vices.

Projects of young students are presented to the sample, full of effort and creativity, and within the framework of design, they will be carried out, exhibitions, showrooms, workshops, conferencesEtc. ..

As a novelty for this edition, the organization has chosen the name of “Design and Gastronomy”, as a set of activities that guarantee a very characteristic Spanish and Valencian cultural value and at the same time bring together a large amount of Talent in both disciplines.

Exposure “Design to the Plate” will be presented on February 9 within the La Nau cultural center, where we can attend the presentations of Chefs and Craftsmen who will cook their projects to get 15 designs and unpublished culinary creations.

The product within the restoration is of incalculable value, and creativity and design blend perfectly with the culinary discipline, as the Chef will present to us.  Jorge Bretón in an inaugural conference similar to the ones he gives in Basque Culinary Center.

El Vinotinto restaurant of the city of Valencia, will host the round table on design and architecture moderated by the architect Juli Capella within the second day of the show.

Within the exhibition space of La Nau, specifically in the General Study Room, you will be able to see a compilation of graphic projects that cover all the creative disciplines corporate image of establishments such as signs, posters, letters, menus, etc., to show all the gastronomic identities.

The charitable background of the exhibition will be reflected in the raffle of the containers designed by the artists for the occasion, donating the funds raised will go to the Valencia Food Bank.

In the exhibition they have collaborated the  Universitat de València, the Valencian Community Handicraft Center, the UPV Food Technology Laboratory and the “A-cuinar” gastronomic association.

To liven up the activities, the local brand of Turia beer and the catering of Latino Vices, will serve their products in the “Opening Party” of the event.
