Gas stove: how to choose? Video
It is better to choose a gas stove when the place for its installation has already been determined, and the interior of the kitchen is formed, at least on paper. Of course, when choosing, you should also carefully consider the functional features of the kitchen assistant, so as not to overpay for options that are not useful.
Free-standing or built-in gas stove?
Built-in appliances mean a separate purchase of the hob and oven. This is convenient when you are going to order a furniture kitchen set, into which the built-in oven will fit perfectly.
In turn, a free-standing stove is more versatile, and its cost is often lower than that of a built-in counterpart. But again, the main disadvantage of a free-standing Slab is its solidity. In built-in appliances, in the event of a breakdown, you can separately replace the hob or change the oven to a more spacious and optional one. A free-standing stove will have to be changed completely.
As for the functional features, gas control, auto-ignition, grill, convection and thermal control of burners that save from dangerous leaks are found both in cooking built-in surfaces and in monolithic ovens.
The set of options will vary from oven to oven. Check the availability of this or that option when buying a stove
Classes of gas ovens and their features
Economy class gas stoves, also called functional ones, are considered the cheapest in the segment. But the low price does not always mean the low quality of the product. More often, for the sake of lowering the cost, manufacturers deprive the plates of additional options. Most of the functional class furnaces are supplied to our market by a domestic manufacturer.
The comfort class stoves follow the functional stoves in the price range. The design of such stoves is noticeably more attractive, the oven is often a pull-out type, and in built-in models, tempered glass and other innovative materials are used as the material of the hob. Plates of the “comfort” class are produced by the majority of domestic and foreign manufacturers of kitchen appliances.
Premium gas ovens have to be selected with great care. Some models of elite stoves are by no means worth the money that is asked for them, although they look quite attractive and modern. To meet the declared premium class, manufacturers complete the models with a huge number of functions and options: ventilation of the oven lid, thermal control, temperature indication, gas control, automatic ignition, backlighting, etc.
After installation, be sure to pay attention to how the purchased stove works. If the burners do not burn with an even blue flame, then this is a cause for concern and contact a service center. In addition, the burners must be collapsible and removable so that it is possible to thoroughly wash the stove and clean the area around the burners from dirt, where fat and other liquids will drain during cooking.
You can protect the surface of the stove from grease and other contaminants using special foil sheets laid on the stove under the burners
Try to select the oven according to your needs, regardless of the options and functions of the device that you do not understand. The main thing is for the oven to “know how” everything that you need at least once a week. And do not forget to additionally select baking trays, trays for baking pies and detergents for cleaning the surface of the stove, which will keep its attractive appearance for a long time.
