The Aton gas boiler is a product of the Ukrainian holding ATON Group, which produces heating equipment for Ukraine and the CIS. The manufacturer offers a large number of modifications that differ in power, installation method and the number of circuits. The manufacturer, using imported components, in fact, performs assembly work. That is why the characteristics of the assembled products are almost as good as those of more expensive, European counterparts.
About Us
ATON Group is a holding producing heat engineering equipment under the brand of the same name. Date of creation of the trademark – 2003. Founder – JSC “Krasilovsky Machine-Building Plant”. The company’s area of interest is the production and sale of heating equipment, functionally comparable with European counterparts, in Ukraine and the CIS. The product catalog contains over 70 items, including various types of gas appliances.
What are the advantages?
Advantages of Ukrainian ATON gas equipment:
- Only components of European manufacturers.
- Affordable price 8 000-25 0000 rubles. Even products from the low price segment meet European standards, are durable and reliable.
- High quality knots. Automation allows you to set the temperature of the coolant with high accuracy, adjust the flow of fuel. The heat exchanger is made of steel sheets – cut by a punching press, and then welded. Even at maximum heat, welds retain their integrity.
- Wide performance range – from 8 kW to 1 MW. You can choose an option for a room of any size.
- Simple operation. Most of the minor work the consumer can do on their own. The principle of operation and design are simple, so it is enough to check the operation of the equipment every six months – the fuel supply setting, etc.
- Safe. Thanks to the draft sensor, it is possible to prevent dangerous situations in which the exhausted gases are blown back into the furnace by the wind. When the pressure in the gas pipes drops, the system turns off automatically – there will be no gas leakage.
- Elegant design.
- Protective powder coating.
How to choose?
Parameters to pay attention to:
- Productivity – is selected depending on the area.
- The number of contours. The manufacturer offers a single-circuit and double-circuit version. Hot water is heated by a DHW circuit or a built-in boiler.
- Depends or not on electricity. The non-volatile type is more valuable, as it is more reliable and self-sufficient.
- Design and installation method.
Varieties
Parapet
A parapet or chimneyless boiler is structurally similar to condensing appliances. A distinctive feature is the closed type combustion chamber. Oxygen consumed during fuel combustion enters the furnace from the street. A horizontal coaxial smoke outlet is connected to the device. It is characterized by high efficiency and environmental friendliness. Economical use of energy resources. A number of parapet versions, in addition to a conventional radiator, have a built-in convection casing – for greater heating efficiency. The manufacturer offers parapet models:
• Wall mounted. Mostly volatile – they need electricity to function.
• Floor version – non-volatile.
Mounted
Are intended for heating of the room and heating of water. Technical features of dual-circuit models:
• Steel heat exchanger. Thickness 3 mm.
• Profile smoke tubes are used – heat transfer is increased by 15%.
• Silent burner (made in England).
• Automatic block – Italian and German.
Compact size and quiet operation means no need for additional sound insulation. The manufacturer includes in the basic package – an expansion tank, a circulation pump, an automatic unit and a security system.
Outdoor
The stationary Aton unit is designed for heating large areas. It can have a capacity of up to 1 MW – this is exactly the capacity of one of the latest modifications of the Aton trademark. Floor versions for ease of choice can be divided into three groups:
• 2 contour. Connected to heating and hot water supply. Water is heated in a copper plate radiator.
• Single circuit. For heating only. They can be equipped with a built-in boiler or connected to a storage tank. They need electricity.
• Non-volatile. These water heating stations are distinguished by their constructive simplicity. They don’t need electricity. They are connected to heating, in which the coolant circulates without compulsion. Chimney floor version. There is an atmospheric burner – air circulating in the room is consumed for operation.
The latest models have design adjustments – they do not need a pilot burner for combustion. This solution allows to reduce the consumption of natural gas by 10-15%.
All modifications meet safety requirements. The maximum allowable water vapor pressure is 0,07 MPa. The maximum liquid temperature is 115 degrees.
Installation and Connection
The gas-powered device must be installed in a ventilated area. Installation is carried out by specialists, in accordance with the requirements of PB (fire safety). Before connecting the device, make sure that:
- system integrity;
- stability of gas supply;
- serviceability of chimneys;
- heat resistance of the surface where the gas installation will stand.
Installation of parapet boiler
It is necessary to stock up:
• perforator;
• wrenches;
• chimney pipes;
• screwdriver;
• fum tape;
• dowels;
• fittings.
A hole d 24 cm is made on the outside of the wall. A chimney section is mounted in it – the end should hang from the outside. Next – fixing the chimney in the wall. Install the smoke and air duct pipes in the gas duct. They are hung on the wall, leaving a gap of 6 cm. The nozzles are connected in turn, fixing them with fasteners. On the protruding part of the pipe, a chimney protection is installed, fixing it with dowels. The device is attached to the wall on the ears.
Instructions
Proper operation is impossible without reading the instructions that come with the device. The main thing that the user needs to read is how to turn on the device:
- The control knob is turned counterclockwise.
- By pressing the handle, and holding it, press the igniter button.
- When the fire appears, do not release the handle – hold for another 10-15 seconds.
- The handle is released, the flame should burn powerfully, evenly, stably.
- In the absence of fire, steps 2-4 are repeated.
Start-up and adjustment of the device is recommended to be carried out with the help of specialists.
Why does the burner go out?
The presence of reliable automatic protection is the main reason for the extinction of the flame. If even a minor malfunction occurs, the automation turns off the device – the wick goes out. The reason for the extinction of the flame is usually not the device itself, but problems in the smoke exhaust system, in the electrical network or hot water supply. Usually, the wick goes out:
- in case of malfunctions or pollution of the chimney;
- when the gas pressure decreases.
Why did the igniter go out?
- The problem is caused by a power failure. For example, a voltage drop. To eliminate interruptions in the operation of volatile gas equipment, connect a stabilizer.
- The igniter often goes out when the nozzles and air filter are clogged. The solution is to clean the clogged elements.
- During prolonged operation, the gap and wire contacts in the igniter may be violated. The situation calls for a specialist. You can clean the filter or check the current conductor yourself.
- If the flame goes out in isolation from the burner, and at the same time noise is heard from the nozzles, the thrust sensor has probably broken. If the cause is oxidation of the contacts, clean them.
- The wick goes out if the thermocouple fails – it can become dirty or burn out. Will have to replace.
- It is likely that the cause of the malfunction is the contacts of the automation unit, check them and, if necessary, clean them.
An extinguished burner is always a nuisance, but especially in severe frosts. At low temperatures there is a risk of pipes freezing. The extinction of the flame can be provoked by the wind penetrating through the chimney – reverse draft. As a result, protection is triggered – the device is completely turned off. Traction often causes failures – if it is insufficient, excessive, reverse.
How to prevent wind blowing?
When designing the location of the device, it is necessary to take into account such nuances as wind blowing – whether it happens from the side of the house of interest, and if so, how strong. The chimney diagram must be correct, if it does not correspond to the project, it is necessary to make changes to the device. The pipe that discharges gases should be insulated. It should rise half a meter above the roof ridge. The diameter is selected according to the power of the equipment. To avoid blowing, you need a lot of traction, for this:
- Clean the chimney from soot and soot.
- Increase the air flow to the maximum. The opening through which the air enters should be located near the floor and as close as possible to the machine.

Owner feedback
ATON Atmo 16E: Alexey G., Evpatoria
The 2-circuit boiler has worked for 10 years. And now it’s just flowing. Over the years of work, there are no special complaints. Saved on gas. The only thing that annoyed me was the lack of hot water. If the boiler burns at the same time and you open the tap, then the hot water runs out very quickly – it does not have time to warm up. Therefore, for a good wash, it was necessary to turn off the heating – then it was possible to heat the water up to 90 degrees. Perhaps because of such overloads, the apparatus broke down, since it is designed for 1 atmosphere and is not suitable for a closed system.
ATON Atmo 12,5E: Yana O., Belgorod
We bought this device for the dacha – it was attracted by the simplicity of design and price. I do not think that this is a high-quality and reliable equipment. Even the plastic sticker near the temperature sensor is poorly glued – it fell off immediately. The wire that goes to the lighter falls off regularly. Condensation forms under the bottom and now the legs have begun to rust. Not even suitable for a summer residence.
Aton gas appliances are an inexpensive ersatz product of more expensive European counterparts. Assembled from imported parts, the boilers are endowed with many convenient features, but are not without the traditional problems associated with flame attenuation. Consumers in Ukrainian heaters are attracted by the affordable cost and a large selection of models designed for heating rooms of different sizes.
