Gas boiler Proterm Jaguar: errors and malfunctions

Protherm heating boilers are equipped with security systems. The operation of all units and parts is controlled by sensors. At the slightest malfunction, the sensor sends a signal to the control board, to which it blocks the operation of the equipment. To unlock and continue heating, the fault must be corrected. For this, the Proterm Jaguar boiler displays errors on the display.

The device and operation of the Protherm Jaguar boiler

Proterm manufacturers produce equipment in several series. Protherm Jaguar is one of the most sought after series of wall hung boilers. Unlike other lines, this one is not made in Slovakia, but in Turkey. Models are distinguished by affordable cost and reliability.

Jaguar units are available only with turbocharged burners and closed combustion chambers. Power from 11 to 28 kW. The presence of two circuits allows you to simultaneously supply hot water to the heating system and the hot water supply system (DHW).

Connection to a coaxial chimney is possible both in an apartment building and in a private one. The pipe is led out through a hole in the wall. Air to maintain the flame is taken from the street. Discharge of combustion products is forced by means of a fan.

Mechanical control. The presence of the display allows you to control the current state of the boiler. There are two modes of operation: “Economy” and “Comfort”. The flame in the burner can be modulated at your discretion. The primary heat exchanger is made of copper, the secondary is made of stainless steel. An expansion tank with a volume of 7 liters is available for pressure sampling.

Error codes, decoding

At the first appearance of the code on the display, it is recommended to reset. To do this, restart the equipment in order to exclude a system failure. If, after starting, the error indicating a malfunction lights up again, then study the table below. Having learned the meaning of the codes, you will fix the breakdown yourself.

Inspect the thermostat contacts for integrity, tighten the connections. Ring the heat sensor. Replace in case of failure.

Make sure the heat exchanger is working properly. If scale has accumulated in its tubes, then heat transfer is impaired. The water inside may boil and overheat the assembly, causing a malfunction. Scale can be removed with reagents.

F02Hot water NTS thermistor has failed.Perform diagnostics of the sensor, its contacts. Replace wiring or defective sensor.
F03The heating NTS thermistor on the flow line does not work.
F06The NTS temperature sensor of the heating system on the return line is out of order.
F04Incorrect operation of the ionization sensor.
  • Make sure there is a flame in the burner. Clean it from dust and soot.
  • Check that the ionization sensor is correctly positioned, tighten the contacts, replace the wiring.
F05No air supply.What do we have to do:
  • Check the flue pipe. Clean its hole from soot, dirt. Sometimes condensation accumulates in the folds. It also needs to be removed.
  • Make sure the fan is working. It is he who pumps air into the chamber. Inspect its wiring, blades. If broken, install a new element.
F07Damaged gas supply valve wiring.Inspect wiring, isolate or replace faulty items. Pull the contacts to the connectors. Check valve for proper operation.
F08The water supply line has overheated.Run diagnostics:
  • Temperature sensor.
  • Heat exchanger. Remove scale and dirt.
  • Filters. Clean off contaminants.
  • pump. Make sure the water circulates properly. Adjust pump speed.

Defective parts must be replaced.

F09The operation of the pressure switch is blocked.Diagnose the pressure switch and its connections.
F10The pressure in the circuit has dropped.Check:
  • Leak systems. Inspect batteries, pipes, connections. Seal the damage.
  • The operation of the pump, its settings. Unlock when hit by a foreign object.

Turn on the water supply to the system until the pressure gauge rises.

F11The coolant circulates poorly in the circuit.Clean the filters of debris and dirt. Run pump diagnostics.
F12Voltage fluctuations in the network.Connect Voltage regulator.

Other malfunctions

Not always in the event of a breakdown, signs appear on the screen. Sometimes these are problems that are noticeable even without code.

The boiler does not start. Batteries stay cold.

  • Open the water and gas shut-off valves.
  • Inspect the fuse, it may have tripped during a power surge.
  • Set a higher heating temperature.
  • Add coolant to the system.

The boiler goes out:

  • Make sure that the chimney is passable, that there is draft.
  • Clean the pipe of dirt.

Take care of the equipment, clean it regularly to avoid breakdowns.
