Garlic oil baguette: recipe

French baguette with garlic oil

One of the most popular garlic bread variations is made from the famous French baguette.

You will need:

  • 1 French baguette
  • 200 grams of butter
  • 3 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • salt and black pepper

French baguette is a long, thin loaf of lean dough with a crispy crust and airy porous pulp. The standard length of a baguette is 65 centimeters, but sometimes its length can reach 1 meter

Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Bring the unsalted butter to room temperature and place in the bowl of a food processor. Peel the garlic cloves and either chop with a thin sharp knife, or pass through a special press. Put chopped garlic in butter with parsley, season with salt and pepper. Pulse until smooth, but do not whisk into cream.

Place the baguette on a cutting board and make diagonal cuts in it at a distance of 2-3 centimeters from each other. In order not to break or flatten the bread, take a special knife with a wavy blade. Using a small butter knife, place a spoonful of garlic oil in the cuts, and apply the rest to the surface of the baguette.

Wrap the bread in food foil. Seal the ends carefully. You can freeze such a baguette for up to several months. Place the finished foil-wrapped bread in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, then turn over and bake for another 10 minutes. Unroll the baguette, cut into slices along the incisions and serve.

Some chefs add lemon juice to garlic oil, which goes well with garlic and parsley.

Ciabatta with olive garlic oil

Italians prefer to make garlic bread based on ciabatta, a white yeast bread also with spongy flesh and crispy crust.

Take:

  • 1 chiabattu
  • olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves

Cut the bread obliquely, also without cutting to the end and making cuts 2-3 centimeters apart. Peel and chop the garlic. Mix it with 100 ml of olive oil and leave to infuse for 5-7 minutes. Using a special silicone brush, brush the cuts and the surface of the bread with garlic olive oil.

Place the bread on a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for about 10 minutes, until the bread is browned. Italians serve such bread with soups and pasta, and slices of garlic bread also make an excellent appetizer – bruschetta.
