Description of the variety of garlic “Lyubasha”
The culture was bred in Ukraine. Today it is in demand in Russia as well. The reason is the high yield of the variety, which retained all the important qualities of the maternal form. The plant grows up to 1,2 m. A characteristic feature is rich dark green foliage with a light waxy bloom. A ripe head weighs 100-120 grams. Some specimens can reach 300 grams or more. Photo of Lyubasha garlic, due to the popularity of the variety, is often found on the Internet.
In addition to external advantages, Lyubasha garlic has other advantages:
- excellent keeping quality,
- yield 35 quintals per hectare,
- drought tolerance,
- frost resistance,
- early maturity,
- unpretentiousness,
- increased content of vitamin C and other nutrients.
Garlic is a natural antibiotic that must be consumed. Variety “Lyubasha” is beneficial for planting, as its yield is higher than that of most representatives of the species.
Plant the variety according to the planting requirements of any winter crop. Garlic reproduces in 3 ways:
- Bulb seeds. Immediately before planting, the bulb should be disinfected.
- Single teeth. Planting material is obtained in the 2nd year after planting bulb seeds. As in the previous case, disinfection is required.
- Teeth isolated from already matured heads. It is necessary to pre-treat the seeds with agents that protect against diseases and pests.
Annual breeding with teeth leads to a loss of taste and useful qualities of the variety. It gradually degenerates.
Plant garlic in well-sunlit areas to improve yields. Dig up the soil a month before planting, remove weeds and stones. Fertilize the soil with mature manure and humus at the rate of 10 liters per 3 m². Planting time: second half of October – early November. It is important to be in time 3-4 weeks before frost. Loosen the soil and water again just before planting. Make shallow grooves. Cover them with ash and sand. Place the teeth and teeth with the heel down and sprinkle. Cover the beds with mulch.
Harvesting should be in the second half of July. With the right approach to planting and care, the harvest always pleases the owners.
