Garden weed control agent
Weed control is essential if you want to get rich crops. Excess vegetation causes a lot of trouble and can cause viral and fungal diseases. Besides the usual weeding, there are other ways to get rid of it.
Weed control in the vegetable garden
There are many methods for dealing with unwanted vegetation. Traditional – mechanical removal of weeds, that is, weeding. For it to be effective, you need to follow some rules.
During digging, all roots, even dry ones, are selected in a bucket and removed from the site. For example, if you leave the garden purslane in the beds, it can take root. Dig deep-rooted plants with a shovel and remove creeping weeds with a hoe. Weeding should be continuous. Remove weeds not only in the garden beds, but also near the fence, as their seeds quickly disperse throughout the area.
There are plants that cannot be removed by regular weeding, for example, a birch tree. Its roots go deep into the soil, surface loosening of the earth only contributes to the growth of this weed. There are other ways besides mechanical:
- application of mulch. All plants need light; if you cover the soil with a dense opaque material, then most of the weeds will die. You can use cardboard, boards, agrofiber, black film and roofing felt;
- application of chemicals. Herbicides should only be used as a last resort if other measures have proven ineffective.
Weeds often grow where the beds are empty. There should not be a place free of crops on the site. Sow siderite plantations.
How to choose a weed control agent
For plants that are difficult to remove from the site, for example, garden purslane or creeping wheatgrass, it is necessary to use herbicides.
You can remove weeds using the following means:
- “Tornado”. The drug is a broad spectrum of action. The chemical must be sprayed over the weeds;
- Hurricane Forte. They need to process the plants immediately after they emerge. Destroys annual and perennial weeds;
- Roundup. It is a systemic herbicide that does not disturb the soil structure;
- Glyphos. Slows down the growth of weeds and contributes to their death;
- Agrokiller. Destroys annual and perennial plants, weeds.
The duration of herbicide exposure is 2 weeks. During this period, the weeds will die.
Weed control takes effort. Remove unwanted vegetation regularly, and not occasionally, then your beds will become clean and well-groomed..
