Galospa is a preparation used in spasms of the bile ducts (urolithiasis, cholecystitis), spasms of the urinary tract (urolithiasis, inflammation of renal pelvis, bladder, painful urge to urinate). As an aid in the contractile states of smooth muscles of the digestive tract (gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, contractile states of the pyloric and pylorus of the stomach, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic constipation, flatulence), in spasms in the genital tract (dysmenorrhea, threatened miscarriage).

ACTION
Galospa is a spasmolytic, a synthetic derivative of papaverine.
Galospa – indications and dosage
Galospa for the drug used:
in contractile states of the bile ducts:
- urolithiasis,
- inflammation of the gallbladder,
in contractile conditions of the urinary tract:
- urolithiasis,
- inflammation of the renal pelvis,
- inflammation of the bladder
- painful urge to urinate,
supportive in the contraction of smooth muscles of the digestive tract:
- gastric and duodenal ulcers,
- systolic conditions of the gastric cardia and pylorus,
- irritable bowel syndrome,
- spastic constipation,
- flatulence
in spasms in the genital tract:
- painful menstruation,
- imminent miscarriage.
Dosage
Galospa is in the form of tablets and is intended for oral use. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug as it may endanger your life or health. The dosage in children has not been established.
- Adults. Orally. 40-80 mg 1-3 × / day.
Galospa and contraindications
Contraindications to taking Galospa are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- severe liver failure,
- kidney or heart failure
- porphyria,
- atrioventricular conduction disturbances (atrioventricular block).
Galospa – warnings
- If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
- Caution should be exercised in patients with hypotension.
- There is no information on the safe use of the drug by pregnant and breastfeeding women. In pregnant women, the drug should only be used after medical consultation and when the doctor determines that the benefit for the mother outweighs the risk for the child.
- It is not recommended to use the drug during breastfeeding.
- The drug does not impair the ability to drive motor vehicles, if taken in therapeutic doses.
- People taking the preparation should be careful, because side effects in the form of dizziness and headaches may appear. In the event of their occurrence, driving a motor vehicle should be avoided.
Galospa with other drugs
- Taking Galopsa with levodopa may reduce its effect and increase muscle tremors and stiffness.
- Atropine and its derivatives intensify the diastolic effect of drotaverine.
Galospa – side effects
While taking Galospa, you may experience:
- palpitations
- lowering blood pressure,
- headaches and dizziness,
- insomnia,
- an acute attack of porphyria,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- constipation
- loss of appetite.
