Galician cuisine in its purest form, in Gastronomic Compostela

On this occasion the Galician Gastronomy contest, Compostela Gastronomica, will stage some thirty Galician chefs and from all the communities, to meet at the Galician Cuisine Festival.

The previous edition was a success for participation with its market menus, and the aim is to exceed the attendance and participation figures, in order to place the gastronomic event at the center of the festive culinary activity of the Country and of course Galicia.

The local Hospitality is aligned with the project and as a result of their demands, this call has been advanced to help revitalize and boost commerce and economic activity in the city.

It will be the days of April 16 and 21, when the Plaza de Abastos of the pilgrim city, will act as the center of all the events and celebrations of the contest.

Throughout various spaces in the city of Santiago de Compostela, a dozen culinary activities will be carried out that will bring together Galician culture around gastronomy in days such as:

  • The Gourmet Tapas Route.
  • The day of Bread
  • The day of snacks (dedicated to Tapas)
  • Workshop for new talents (with students from the Galician Higher Hospitality Center and the Lamas de Abade Hospitality School)
  • The Host program
  • The day of the Galician Denominations of Origin
  • The day of the artisans.

Among the activities, it is worth highlighting the one made with the Compostela Gastronomic Hosts program, through which the local chefs will accompany the guest chefs throughout the city, recalling the legendary “Paris-Dakar ” of tapas but this time not only in the streets that welcomed it years ago …

News and Essentials of the Gastro cultural proposal.

The center of the activities as we mentioned at the beginning will be the Hub located in the Plaza de Abastos, where the POP- up Gastro, where the categories of products from the land and the sea, such as fish, meat and vegetables will be honored with the proposals and elaborations of the chefs who participate in the conference.

We will be able to attend workshops and live demonstrations of the type showcooking, where Galician dishes will be the protagonists, and in its development they will be able to participate from the youngest of the house to the most famous foodies or in love with traditional Galician cuisine who want to discover the most modern current avant-garde.

One of the novelties that will surely help the dissemination and recognition of the conference, will be the bloggers meeting of the gastro sector, which will bring you together in the emblematic Hostel of the Catholic Monarchs of the Obradoiro Square, where the lyrics will be fused with the commentary and the taste for the exquisite to help this type of contests endure and create the real value of Galician cuisine in Spain and in the world.
