Furaginum is an anti-infective drug used in urinary tract infections. Furaginum is a chemotherapeutic drug with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity, available only on prescription.

Indications for the use of the drug Furaginum

Furaginum is prescribed, inter alia, by urologists for the treatment of acute and chronic lower urinary tract infections that can be caused by bacteria E. E. Coli Coli. The active substance of the preparation is furazidine – an organic chemical compound that is commonly used against bacteria that affect the urinary tract. The drug is administered orally with meals containing protein.

Furaginum – Dosage

  1. Adults: 100 mg four times a day on the first day, 100 mg three times a day on the following days.
  2. Children 2-14. year of life: 5-7 mg per kilogram body weight daily in 2-3 divided doses, for 7-8 days (if necessary, the treatment should be repeated after 10-15 days).
  3. In children up to 2 years of age, the dose should be individually adjusted.

Furaginum – contraindications

Contraindication to the use of Furaginumsa:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or other nitrofuran derivatives;
  2. severe renal failure (oliguria, anuria);
  3. polyneuropathy (e.g., diabetic);
  4. glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency;
  5. The first trimester of pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
  6. damage to peripheral nerves (peripheral polyneuropathy).
