Description and properties of the drug

The necessary information about the Rex Duo fungicide is collected in the instructions for use.

The active ingredients of the drug are:

1. Epoxiconazole at a concentration of 18,7%. Belongs to the chemical class of triazoles. According to the method of penetration, it belongs to systemic pesticides, according to the action – to fungicides, according to the nature of the action – to protective pesticides and curative fungicides. It blocks the formation of cell membranes of the pathogen, which leads to its death. A distinctive property is the ability of a substance to remain active during periods of wet and cold weather. Fast onset and duration of action is another advantage of the component.
2. Thiophanate-methyl at a concentration of 31,0%. Chemical class – benzimidazoles. For this component, the method of penetration classifies it as a systemic contact pesticide, the effect on organisms is much wider than that of epoxiconazole. In addition to the group of pesticides and fungicides, the substance belongs to insecticides and ovicides. By the nature of the action, it is a protective pesticide. It can be seen that the mechanism of action of the components is different, so the effect of the Rex fungicide manifests itself in a wide range, and the risk of resistance is significantly reduced.

According to the opinions of farmers, the drug has the greatest value in the cultivation of winter wheat varieties. Even a minimal level of rust, septoria and powdery mildew damage can lead to the loss of a quarter of the crop. Therefore, the protective effect of “Rex Duo” is able to protect cultures from pathogens.

Its use is justified for the protection and prevention of crops from a number of fungal infections:

Advantages and disadvantages of a systemic drug

Among the main advantages of the fungicide should be highlighted:

• a pronounced stop effect for pathogens due to the rapid penetration of active ingredients into plant tissues;

• the possibility of using in tank mixtures, but after a compatibility test;
• reliability during processing at low temperatures and high humidity (penetration rate of active substances is not more than 30 minutes);

Among the shortcomings of the fungicide, farmers note:

1. Not too budget price. A 1 liter canister costs from 2000 rubles.
2. Toxicity to warm-blooded animals and humans. It is not the maximum (grade 3), but the use of the drug requires the mandatory use of personal protective equipment for the skin and mucous membranes. After processing, it is possible to continue work on the site after 3 days.

Farmers do not note other significant shortcomings.

Preparation of working solution

The mixture is prepared immediately before use. The consumption rate of the suspension is calculated depending on the cultivated area and the type of crop. The species affiliation of the pathogenic fungus does not play any role, therefore it is not taken into account.

The fungicide emulsion is added to half the volume of water and mixed thoroughly. Then the rest of the water is added in parts. This makes it possible to evenly dissolve the substance.

To carry out the processing of cereals, adhere to the ratio of 300 ml of fungicide per 1 ha of area. On rapeseed plantings, the consumption doubles (600 ml). The volume of water is calculated according to the norms of the instructions for working with the sprayer and the density of the jet exit.

For cereals, one preventive treatment with a fungicide per season is sufficient. If there is a need for treatment, then spraying is permissible in any phase of plant development. In this case, the degree of damage is taken into account. The frequency of spraying is 2 weeks.

Table and fodder beets are processed twice with an interval of 14 days. At the same time, the consumption of “Rex Duo” is maintained in a volume of 300 ml. Water is taken, counting in accordance with the power of the sprayer.

The use of the drug for crops

For cereals, 2 treatments with Rex Duo fungicide are recommended. For beets – one or two. The drug works great when affected by several types of fungal infections, so it is used everywhere.

On the planting areas of spring and winter wheat or barley, they are used per 1 sq. m from 0.04 ml to 0,06 ml of suspension. One spraying is enough with the consumption of the working solution in the amount of 30 ml per 1 sq. m.

On beet ridges, the consumption is almost the same – from 0.05 ml to 0,06 ml. Two sprayings are carried out with an interval of 14 days. A second treatment will be needed when signs of damage appear. In some cases, one prophylactic is enough. For 1 sq. m area spend from 20 ml to 40 ml of solution.

Safety regulations

The fungicide is not toxic to bees and fish, but humans need to be especially careful. It is required to protect the respiratory organs, skin and eyes as much as possible from exposure to the chemical. With direct contact, immediately take absorbent preparations and wash the skin.

Do not use the substance after the expiration of the shelf life (3 years), neglecting this rule leads to increased toxicity.

The packaging is disposed of separately from household waste.

The containers in which the solution was prepared are thoroughly washed and stored out of the reach of children and animals.

Varieties of the drug

The developers provided the farmers with a new drug with an enhanced effect – Rex Plus fungicide. The active ingredients are Epoxiconazole (84%) and Fenpropimorph (25%). The first ingredient is identical to one of the active ingredients of Rex Duo, and the second enhances the absorption of epoxiconazole. It has a very high mobility and rapid penetration into plant tissues. In a joint application, this leads to increased penetration and the first component. The synergy of the two active ingredients in Rex Plus was called the slip effect by the developers. The composition also includes special adhesives, adjuvants that increase the fixing of the fungicide on the surface of plant parts. Accordingly, the absorption of the drug is improved. The fungicide is adapted for use on grain crops.

According to farmers, the Rex Plus fungicide has the following advantages:

1. Low substance loss. Due to the inclusion of adhesives, the solution does not roll off the leaves.
2. Increased protective action due to uniform distribution.
