Fungicide Falcon

Garden crops, cereals, fruit trees and shrubs are so susceptible to diseases that it is almost impossible to get a decent harvest without the use of fungicides. The three-component drug Falcon is very popular. The substances included in its composition help fight the fungus in the vineyard, tomatoes, root crops and other crops. With the composition of Falcon fungicide, instructions for use, analogues and other issues of interest, we will now try to figure it out.

Requirements for the drug

Fungicide Falcon

Before studying the description of the Falcon fungicide, it is worth learning about the origin of the drug, and what requirements are imposed on it. The developer is the German company Bayer. The fungicide was created to protect grain crops, as well as sugar beet, from fungal diseases, in particular powdery mildew. A feature of the disease is its rapid spread. If you wait for the first visible signs to appear, then the crop will be lost.

 The fungicide should instantly destroy the pathogens of the fungus, but not accumulate in the grain at the stage of milk maturity. Soil contamination is generally unacceptable. Fertile plantations poisoned by pesticides become unsuitable for agricultural work the next year. European standards, as well as great competition in the grain market, have formed a number of important requirements for Falcon:

  • The presence in the composition of the preparation of toxic chemicals that can accumulate by plants and fertile soils is unacceptable. The minimum presence of chlorine, capable of rapidly decomposing under natural conditions, is allowed.
  • The drug should 100% destroy the fungus. Harmlessness also lies in the impossibility of the accumulation of foreign flavors by cultures.
  • It is very difficult to prevent strangers from entering fields sprayed with fungicide. The drug must be completely harmless in contact with it. The maximum hazard class for people is 2.
  • For insects, birds and animals, the maximum hazard class is allowed – 3. The fungicide should not cause damage to apiaries standing near the fields.
  • Fungal pathogens should not adapt to the fungicide during spraying of plantings up to four times per season, provided that they have been used in one place for at least five seasons.
  • The drug should be used for treatment and prevention, penetrate deeply into all tissues, and then quickly neutralize.
  • After opening the package, the concentrate should be stored for at least 2 years. This allows you to use the remnants of the drug from a large packaging for the next season.
  • The simplest and most understandable instructions for the use of Falcon fungicide, the price of which is reduced due to different forms of release.
Important! It was possible to reduce the cost of the drug by producing two forms: a water-soluble concentrate and an emulsion.

Bayer met all requirements. The only problem was the temperature of the fungicide Falcon up to a maximum of +25оC. In severe heat, the drug is inactive. Even if the fungicide was stored in a sealed container, it loses its effectiveness from overheating. Falcon is easy to use, cheap, and additionally helps growers fight oidium. Farmers can buy fungicide in 5 liter cans. For private traders, there is a small packaging of 10 ml.

Composition

Fungicide Falcon

The color of the Falcon fungicide solution can be characterized by description as a brown-red transparent liquid with a brown tint. The composition of the drug includes two active and one excipient:

  • spiroxamine – 25%;
  • tebuconazole – 16,7%;
  • triadimenol 4,3%.

The complex composition of the fungicide of three components is due to the requirement that prevents the adaptation of pathogens of fungal diseases to the drug.

The use of the drug for different crops

Falcon is considered a drug of a narrow direction, more intended to combat powdery mildew. The fungicide will help those plants that are susceptible to this type of fungus. The general instruction for the use of the Falcon fungicide for tomatoes, beets, grapes, and other crops involves the preparation of a solution and the treatment of plantings by spraying. The advantage of the drug is its low toxicity. Falcon is allowed to spray garden crops with ripening fruits. For example, tomato plantations can be saved from powdery mildew when the fruits are already set. In terms of cost, Falcon outperforms the Topaz, which is safe in terms of toxicity. However, in terms of waiting time before harvesting, it loses. After spraying with Falcon, the fruits are suitable for consumption after 30 days. Topaz becomes safe after 7 days. Another good analogue for the Falcon fungicide is Horus. After spraying it is neutralized in 15 days.

Advice! Falcon fungicide is not recommended for early ripening berry crops due to the impossibility of eating fruits. To wait for neutralization, the crop will overripe in a month and become worthless.

Vineyard processing

Fungicide Falcon

In private farms, the fungicide was quickly appreciated by growers. For cold regions with a damp and variable climate, powdery mildew is a huge problem associated with crop loss. Prophylactic agents are not always effective, expensive and addictive. Falcon is practically harmless, cheap and works with annual use.

Against oidium for grapes, the Falcon fungicide instruction consists of several points that differ in terms of use.

Prevention:

  • the vine of the first year of life is sprayed with a solution consisting of 3 ml of concentrate per 10 liters of water;
  • in the second year, the amount of fungicide is increased to 4 ml;
  • vineyards of three and four years of life are sprayed with a solution of 6 ml of concentrate per 10 liters of water;
  • a vine aged five years and older is treated with a solution of 10 ml of fungicide per 10 liters of water.

Treatment:

  • when visible signs of oidium appear in the annual vine, a solution of 6 ml of Falcon per 10 liters of water is used;
  • the concentration of the solution for a biennial vine is 12 ml / 10 l;
  • for vines of the third year of life and older, the content of Falcon in the solution is increased to 20 ml.

If preventive measures have not yielded positive results and the grapes have fallen ill, the concentration of Falcon is increased to a therapeutic dose.

Vine growers have developed the most convenient fungicide spraying scheme:

  • The first spraying with the drug is carried out before flowering. Buds may be present, but unopened.
  • The second fungicide treatment is carried out immediately after flowering.
  • The third spraying with the drug is carried out on green berries the size of peas.
  • The last fourth fungicide treatment is carried out at the beginning of fruit coloring, but a month before harvesting.
Attention! Grapes are sprayed in dry, calm and cool weather.

The approximate consumption of Falcon’s solution is 100 ml / 1 m2 carpet of green leaves. Spraying in one area is continued until the foliage is completely moistened and ends with the appearance of drops.

Beet processing

Fungicide Falcon

Signs of fungal diseases appear on beet leaves as dry brown spots. Spraying with a fungicide solution twice during the entire growing season helps to prevent the destruction of the root crop by powdery mildew. The approximate consumption is about 80 ml / 1 m2 beds. The solution is prepared from 10 liters of water and 6 ml of Falcon. The protective effect is active for 21 days. The next treatment is carried out no earlier than 14 days later.

Important! After spraying with Falcon, beet leaves can be fed to animals after 21 days.

Instructions for use

The instruction common for the Falcon fungicide states that the working solution is prepared immediately in the sprayer tank, and directly on the spot before starting work. An unused diluted drug becomes unusable after a day. The solution is prepared according to the following technology:

  • 1/3 or 1/10 of the water is poured into the tank;
  • pour in the required dose of Falcon, stir;
  • add water, bringing to the required rate;
  • pump up the sprayer tank with a pump, get to work.

The sprayer head is adjusted so that the spray creates a mist. Fungicide treatment is performed in the evening or on a cloudy day. The sun and heat neutralize the fungicide, so it is better to refuse work during the day. The absorption time of Falcon by plant cells is at least 4 hours. Do not water during this period. If it rains after 4 hours, nothing bad will happen. Most of the fungicide is already absorbed by the green mass.

Compatibility with other drugs

Spraying with Falcon can be alternated with some other fungicides, such as Strobi or Quadris. Preparations are friendly even in the same sprayer tank. Combination with other fungicides is checked empirically. Two different solutions are mixed in a glass jar. If after 2 hours a chemical reaction does not appear, accompanied by a discoloration of the liquid, the release of temperature or gases, then the drugs are compatible for simultaneous use.

Security

Fungicide Falcon

Falcon is considered a low-toxic substance. The safe working time with the fungicide is 6 hours, subject to the availability of a respirator, overalls, gloves, headgear and goggles. According to sanitary standards, spraying is allowed at the following distance from objects:

  • apiary – 1500 m;
  • reservoirs, sources of drinking water, playgrounds – 150 m;
  • residential buildings – 15 m;
  • agricultural buildings – 5 m.

After work, you should visit the shower or wash the exposed areas of the body well.

Reviews

About the fungicide Falcon reviews of gardeners are bifurcated. Some advocate new technologies, others still do not trust chemistry.

Stanislas
My neighbor Falcon even processes tomatoes. They stand beautiful, there is a lot of harvest, they never get sick. I’m afraid of chemistry. I use folk remedies more. So far only tested on flowers. The result is normal.
Valentina Vladimirovna
Falcon bypassed for a long time, but when the infection spread throughout the greenhouse, there was no choice left. The fungus barely got rid of it. So far, I have not observed any side effects after using Falcon.
