Fruko Schulz – Czech liqueurs for every taste

Despite the German name, Fruko Schulz is a Czech company founded in 1898 and located in Jindřichův Hradec. It is the second largest producer of wine and liqueurs in the country, as well as one of the world leaders in the absinthe market. The winery produces more than 100 brands of products, with a total volume of more than one and a half million units of goods per year, and exports them to more than 20 countries.

Historical information

The history of the company begins in 1898, when the region belonged to Austria-Hungary. It was then that Moritz Schulz opened a winery here, specializing in the production of dessert wines and liqueurs.

At first it was a small almost family company, which employed only 30 people, but then Mr. Schulz expanded production by adding a neighboring brewery to it, and increased the staff. The Fruko Schultz factory did not stop working even during the First and Second World Wars, but in 1948 it was nationalized and became the property of the state.

In 1993, production was handed over to the descendants and heirs of Moritz, and the new generation of owners began by completely reorganizing the operation of the enterprise, modernizing production lines and expanding the range. Today the company is widely known in the European and international markets, is famous for the quality of products and affordable prices.
