Fruit is a good decoration for any festive table, especially in summer. In addition, apples, bananas, oranges, peaches, apricots and other fruits are an excellent source of vitamins. They are good to serve not only as a dessert, but also as an addition to light wines. Artfully decorated fruit slices are not only beautiful, but also delicious. Knowing the basic secrets of fruit decoration, you can easily and quickly prepare for the arrival of guests.

Selection of fruits and their decoration

If you want not only to treat your friends, but also to surprise them with an original and beautiful view of dishes, serve fruit on the table. But in order to make an original cut, not all fruits are suitable. You should choose only ripe, fresh and firm fruits. A great option is fruits from your own garden.

Remember a very important feature: many fruits tend to darken when in contact with air. Therefore, you should make and arrange the slicing immediately before serving, when your guests are already all assembled. To slightly slow down the browning process, there is one secret: sprinkle the fruit with freshly squeezed lemon juice, and so that they do not lose their sweetness, sprinkle a little with powdered sugar.

Cut the fruit as thinly as possible, so make sure you have a sharp knife on hand in advance. Also, use special fruit trays that can be easily purchased at any store. Cutting molds will help to make the design more original and varied. To make the fruit look interesting, use as many shapes as possible: circles, slices, hearts. And do not forget that you can experiment not only with the shape of the slicing, but also with the design of the entire dish.

If you need to make a lot of slicing, then it is better to stock up on a few sharp knives. Fruit skins tend to blunt knives quickly

Try not to chop a lot of fruit at the same time. It will be much better to replenish the dish as the slices are eaten. If you want the fruit to last longer, brush the pieces with a thin layer of jelly. A very simple but original cut is obtained from a combination of fruits such as tangerine, kiwi, pomelo, orange, apples, canned pineapples and pomegranates.

For slicing, wash all fruits thoroughly and peel them. Disassemble the citrus fruits into slices, and cut the rest of the fruits into neat slices. At the same time, remove the core of the apples with seeds. When the fruit is ready, get creative or randomize the slices on a platter and garnish with pomegranate seeds on top. It is very convenient to serve figuratively cut fruits in the form of small canapes on skewers.

For complex cutting of fruits, it is best to purchase special carving knives.

Be sure to place the slices correctly on the plate, otherwise the fruit may crush and juice. The decoratively cut fruit is best placed in the center of the dish, and the sliced fruit should be placed along the edge of the plate. If you also serve berries, then it is best to place them in the center too. As a finishing touch, you can decorate the finished cuts with patterns of coconut and powdered sugar or melted chocolate.
