One of the most popular fruits in these salads is apples. Pineapple boat for fruit salad
A popular form of serving fruit salad is making a special pineapple boat. Choose a ripe fruit with a light aroma. A strong pineapple smell is a sign that the fruit is overripe. Place the pineapple on a cutting board with the greens away from you. Using a wide serrated knife, cut off about 1/3 of the fruit and set aside. Make cuts in the flesh around the edges of the fruit by cutting out a square, then cut it straight into the pineapple lengthways and across into cubes. Then, prying with a knife, remove the pulp. The boat is ready. You can use it in a salad, make a smoothie out of it, or freeze it and cook with it later.
