😉 Greetings to my regular readers and visitors of the site! “Korzhik” is a short story, an episode from my distant childhood. Hope you find it interesting.
It is known that children’s memory is much stronger than the memory of other periods of life. I remember the case that he was yesterday …
In the late 60s of the last century, I was in the second grade of a regular high school.
During big breaks, students were directed to the school cafeteria. Patties, buns, custard cakes, muffins, milk, compote and lemonade. There were also hot meals for the elementary grades. For example, mashed potatoes with sausage and a slice of pickled cucumber. Hot cocoa, tea, pie or shortbread.
Such a dinner cost 15-20 kopecks. Parents paid for their kids’ meals for the entire month. Optional. Many students brought their lunches with them. Mostly sausage, cheese and apple sandwiches.
Hello from class
Once I caught a cold and didn’t come to school for several days. During a school lunch, our teacher approached my classmate with a request: “Lena, aren’t you Tanya Erokhina’s neighbor? Go see her today and hand over this cookie. Say hello from the class. Let him get well soon ”.
When I returned to school, in the first lesson, the teacher greeted me and asked if Kashtanova Lena had conveyed greetings to me from the class.
– No. Nobody came to me.
– Kashtanova, stand up. Why didn’t you fulfill my request?
The red-haired girl with an ink spot on her cheek and short pigtails blushed deeply.
– On the way home that day, I took my sister from the kindergarten. She ate a biscuit …
– My dear guys, I will not only teach you arithmetic. You and I will have life lessons. Like this case.
Firstly, the person to whom something is given or given from the team must definitely say “thank you”. In our case, Elena acted dishonestly. She did not comply with the request and remained silent. This is not good. The point is not at all about the cookie, but about the deed. Here’s how to proceed:
The first option is to buy the same cake and transfer it.
The second option is to come up to me and say that the request could not be fulfilled. It is not easy to admit your wrongdoing, but it clears your conscience. Learn to be honest people.
Many years have passed. Kashtanova remained my childhood friend for life. Now we are both pensioners. 😉 When meeting with a friend, I sometimes joke:
– Lenka, return my cake!
– How to return it if it has been eaten long ago ?!
😉 Dear readers, share your memories. Each of us has a story to tell. Come in, run in, take a look at this site. There are many stories ahead!
