From runny nose to bronchitis: how to heal quickly
Affiliate material
There is one joke that ENT doctors do not like very much: “If a runny nose is treated, it will go away in a week, and if not treated, then in 7 days.” They know from experience: untreated rhinitis is a direct road to sinusitis. And they are preparing for the seasonal influx of patients, which happens in November. Why does November break records for the prevalence of diseases, what is the connection between a cold and bronchitis, and how quickly to recover?
One runny nose, two runny nose … three – sinusitis
November sinusitis is a natural consequence of a series of “colds” that occur at the beginning of the cold season. A typical prehistory of sinusitis sounds something like this: “in September there was a runny nose – they did not pay attention, it smoothly turned into October – they did not heal, and by November there were severe pains – they diagnosed sinusitis.” This happens because with frequent rhinitis, the mucous membranes do not get a “respite” and remain inflamed. Over time, their defenses weaken and bacteria spread through the respiratory system. The more often and longer the runny nose, the more easily other diseases occur. Moreover, the consequence of a runny nose can be not only sinusitis, but also bronchitis. What is the connection between a runny nose and bronchitis?
Rhinitis, sinusitis, bronchitis – everywhere else
Everything is explained simply: the mucous membranes of the upper and lower respiratory tract are arranged in the same way. This allows bacteria to spread from the upper to the lower and vice versa – the disease simply moves to another “floor”. That is why an ordinary runny nose can cause sinusitis and bronchitis, and sometimes both at the same time. It turns out that the key point in the spread of infections is the deterioration of the functioning of the mucous membranes, therefore, the main attention in treatment should be paid to the restoration of their functions. But how can this be done in practice? Today ENT doctors rely on the power of essential oils.
New possibilities in the treatment of sinusitis and bronchitis opened up with the advent of a substance called Myrtol standardized, included in the drug
