Strawberry “Frigo” grows well in beds covered with foil

Seedlings are planted in open ground in May – early June, and in a greenhouse under a film all year round. Fruiting occurs in 2 months. The planting site is preliminarily cleared of weeds and fertilized well. It is better to apply manure in autumn, and mineral fertilizers, for example “Azofoska”, before planting. It is impossible to plant Frigo seedlings in open ground later than mid-June – hot weather will prevent it from taking root well, and the harvest will not have time to ripen.

Before planting in seedlings, the root system must be pruned one third of the length. It is advisable, after unpacking, to soak the roots in cold water with a growth stimulator – “Zircon”, “Kornevin” or “Heteroauxin”

The root system of the seedlings must not be left open for more than 15 minutes. Therefore, after three hours of soaking the roots in water with a stimulant, Frigo strawberries are planted in the prepared area. The beds are made two-line or one-line, with a distance between bushes in a row of at least 30 centimeters.

The strawberries are planted in moist soil. The roots of the seedlings are lowered into the prepared holes, straightened well so that they do not have creases and they are located vertically. The soil is pressed tightly so that there are no voids between the roots. The root collar of the seedlings should be level with the ground. The planted bushes are watered immediately.
