Friends gave an ice maker and a shaker for their birthday: what to try to cook first

My friends have always been creative. So for my birthday, I became the proud owner of an ice maker and a shaker. With this unusual gift, my homemade experience of making cocktails began. I surfed the internet and through trial and error chose the best drinks. Friends were tasting.

What you need to make cocktails at home

First of all, for making cocktails you will need a classic shaker. Therefore, the donated shaker has become a great helper for me.

I also purchased a measuring cup and glassware for serving cocktails: a shot (a stack), Martini and Margarita glasses. I had whiskey glasses. A bar spoon will also come in handy.

It is needed for neatly laying out the layers of the drink and allows you to reach the bottom of any dish in order to mix the ingredients well, which is why it has such a long handle.

Strong cocktails

Gathering together, our friendly company is divided into two camps: some like stronger cocktails, and there are lovers of delicious low-alcohol drinks.

Favorite strong cocktail “Tsunami”, it is bright and unusual consists of 5 layers. It’s like a real tsunami. To prepare it, you will need: Sauza Silver (Silver tequila) – 25 ml, BLUE CURACAO liqueur (Blue Curacao) – 10 ml, sugar syrup – 10 ml, lemon juice – 15 ml, red Tabasco sauce – 2 ml. The ingredients are laid out in layers in a shot and the drink can be served.

The Godfather cocktail was also a hit with my friends. For cooking, I take: Scotch Whiskey (Scotch Whiskey) – 35 ml, Amaretto liqueur (Amaretto) – 35 ml, and three ice cubes. Pour all the ingredients into a shaker, mix well and pour the contents into a glass with ice.

Low alcohol cocktails

Daiquiri cocktail is one of the simplest and my friends love it very much. Simple ingredients: BACARDI (white rum Bacardi) – 45 ml, juice of a quarter of a lime (25 ml), lemon can also be used, two teaspoons of sugar syrup. I add ice cubes, all ingredients to the shaker, mix well and strain. All “Daiquiri” is ready.

Tip: We do not skimp on the amount of ice when serving cocktails, the more ice in the glass, the slower it melts. And the less water will be there, which will change the strength and taste of the prepared alcoholic drink.

Another delicious low-alcohol Blue Lagoon cocktail. It is prepared quickly and simply, for its preparation I mix vodka 50 ml in a shaker, with BLUE CURACAO liqueur (Blue Curacao) – 10 ml. I fill a tall glass with ice cubes, pour the mixture from the shaker into it and add Sprit (Sprite) – 150 ml. This cocktail is drunk through a straw and traditionally garnished with a slice of lemon.

How beautiful to serve cocktails

As my friend says, “The eyes are the first to try,” and I agree with him on this. I decorate cocktails for friends. Drinking from a glass garnished with strawberries or a slice of orange is much more pleasant. For decoration, I most often use fruits or mint leaves.

I also really like the sugar method. To get the effect of frost on the edge of the glasses, I pour the juice squeezed from a lemon or orange into a flat plate or saucer, turn the glass over and dip its edges into the juice.

After that, I dip the wet edge in fine sugar. Here in such a prepared glass I pour a ready-made cocktail from a shaker. It looks very impressive with a bright slice of orange or mango, on the edge of a sugar glass.

Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to your health. Take care of yourself!

And I’ll tell you what, you need to experiment with the ingredients of cocktails, sometimes the most unusual combination idea appears. Try it and you will be pleasantly surprised.
