Frequent mistakes in permanent makeup: expert opinion
The specialist told what you need to pay attention to in order not to become a victim of an unqualified master.
Everybody has mistakes in permanent makeup. However, there are the most common oversights that anyone who is thinking about the procedure should be aware of. So it will be possible to ask the potential master the necessary questions in advance and control the process from and to, which will avoid unwanted results. Permanent make-up master Natalia Solovyova told Wday what to look for when looking for a suitable specialist.

1. Bad sketch
50% of successful tattooing depends on the correct sketch. Unfortunately, not every master can boast of successful and appropriate sketches. As a result, the client does not understand what awaits him.
In the work of a permanent make-up master, drawing a sketch is one of the priority tasks that cannot be released on the brakes. It is also very important to apply the sketch correctly and aesthetically. To do this, the specialist must initially think over everything carefully and find an individual approach to the client.
2. Template approach
Many craftsmen make another mistake – they draw sketches from a template. But this is fundamentally wrong, since not every woman is suitable for the generally accepted version of eyebrows or lips. The issue of the sketch must be approached individually. There are no templates in the work of a specialist and there cannot be for one simple reason: all people are unique, which means that their eyebrow and lip shapes are also. Therefore, when creating a sketch, a specialist must take into account the proportions of the client’s face.
3. The master ignores you
Another, one might say, fatal mistake that many masters make. Before starting to apply permanent makeup and drawing a sketch, he should talk to you and find out about your tastes and preferences.
Primary task – to agree on all stages of work, from drawing a sketch to drawing. In the process, the specialist should show you intermediate results, and after drawing, give a little more time so that you can get used to the new image and understand whether you like it.
4. Pigment color
An important point of work is the selection of the pigment. It should match your skin tone and eye color. The main task is to make the permanent makeup look good and match the type: so that it is not vulgar, not bright and not flashy. Be sure to discuss this with the master. Ask him to show you an example of what color you will end up with.
5. Cleanliness of the workplace
In my opinion, the workplace also speaks of the professionalism of a specialist. It must be perfectly clean, sterile and well lit. For this reason, I do not recommend contacting craftsmen who work from home. It is impossible to achieve such cleanliness and sterility there, as, for example, in a clinic.
6. Level of knowledge
Unfortunately, not every specialist can boast of a good base – the knowledge and skills that he received during training. And this is where mistakes begin: too deep-set pigment, too dense permanent makeup, which is now irrelevant. Currently, lightness, smokiness, naturalness, hair techniques (in eyebrow tattooing) are in vogue, which should also be done as carefully and invisibly as possible. Hair tattoo should not look like a bunch of “stumps”. This is, firstly, ugly, and secondly, it is difficult to fix it later.
7. Clear outline
A mistake that is also often encountered by some permanent makeup specialists. Carefully study the examples of his work: the outline should not be clearly traced, but blurred and natural.
8. Work on tattoo pigment
It is an unforgivable mistake to use a coarse tattoo pigment on your face, which is absolutely not intended for permanent makeup. In tattooing, only a special microdispersed pigment is used, which lays down in a haze, providing a natural effect. Such a result cannot be achieved from a tattoo pigment. It fits very tightly and is incredibly difficult to remove. Moreover, it is capable of changing color: turning from black to green or blue. And if he ceases to suit, then you will have to go through several circles of hell to completely remove him. Therefore, be sure to ask the master what pigment he intends to use in the procedure.
