Frequent diarrhea – what could they mean?

What could they mean?

I’m 20 years old. My problem is frequent recurring diarrhea. In between, there is a period of relative calm for about 2 months, then the problem returns with a stabbing pain on the right side, under the ribs. What could this mean or should I consult my doctor about these symptoms? Maciej

The symptoms that the Lord gives can be caused by many different causes. The chronic and periodic nature of the ailments, as well as the lack of alarm symptoms, such as weight loss or anemia, may suggest food allergies, intolerance to certain substances (lactose, gluten – celiac disease) or the so-called functional intestinal disorders – the diarrheal form (“intestinal neurosis”). I suggest you seek advice from a gastroenterologist who will examine you and suggest further diagnostic procedures.
