The deep fryer is a real helper in the modern kitchen. The crispy, appetizing French fries cooked in it are incredibly tasty, although not very healthy. Eating deep-fried potatoes is not always recommended. But from time to time it is not forbidden to pamper yourself and loved ones with this delicious dish.

To prepare mouth-watering French fries in a deep fryer, you will need the following ingredients:

– 500 grams of potatoes; – refined vegetable oil for deep fat; – spices; – salt.

First of all, you need to prepare the potatoes for frying. To do this, thoroughly wash the potatoes, peel and cut into strips. To make the sticks well fried, they should be made the same, so use a special knife to cut the potatoes. The sticks should be long and not too thin, about a centimeter thick. Thickly chopped potatoes may not be fried, and thin ones will turn out to be dry.

To absorb excess liquid, lay the prepared potatoes on a clean kitchen or paper towel. Excessive moisture may make your fries not crispy and the oil may foam during frying.

Prepare your fryer for cooking potatoes.

How to deep fry French fries

For French fries, choose refined sunflower oil that is suitable for frying. This information can be read on the label. It is recommended to mix different brands of oil for deep fat. Thanks to this simple procedure, an oil film does not appear on the potato sticks.

You can determine the degree of heating of deep fat by dipping a piece of potato into vegetable oil. The oil around the block should boil (not very much)

Pour the required amount of sunflower oil into the deep fryer. Set the thermostat to 160-180 degrees and heat the deep fat to the desired temperature.

Then place the potato wedges in a sieve to fry. Cook the fries in chunks. If you put a large portion at once, the sticks stick together.

Set the timer on the deep fat fryer for 6-8 minutes. The cooking time for potatoes depends on the variety. Domestic potatoes are softer, while imported winter varieties are tougher. When the potatoes turn a pleasant golden color, the dish is ready.

Place the fries in a colander and let the oil drain. Transfer the potatoes to paper napkins or a towel to absorb any excess fat. Then salt with fine salt, you can also sprinkle with spices to your liking.

Likewise, you can fry store-bought fries. It is sold already cut into neat strips, which significantly reduces the cooking time. Do not defrost store fries, place them in small portions immediately in a deep fryer and fry for 6-8 minutes.

Serve fries with meat and fish, or as a side dish.
